Sessions is doing real good. He "gets it".

I wish I could find a full transcript of yesterday's comments by members of the judiciary committee.

I think one of the Republicans, who spoke later, "dissed" Schumer (indirectly), by saying that some members of the judiciary committee are not lawyers and might not understand some point or another

I doubt that Coburn was being dissed by a fellow Republican, and I wish I could remember the particular point of discussion.

Sessions following up where Kyl left off yesterday--regarding party line votes (perhaps a shot across the bow for future republican action?).

Latest vote totals:

51 For
29 Against

I wouldn't exactly call Anita Hill a success.

"Successful delay"

Doesn't the Senate have to act before Feb 1 to renew the Patriot Act?

This is already boring to the max. The republicans need to shut up and let the dems blow until they cannot think of anything else to say, then vote.

LOL. Leahy thinks the Senate should be the conscience of the nation.

Now he's trying to explain why all the dems voted against him. Saying it's not a "party line" vote.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nelson of Nebraska is the only Democrat vote for Alito. But he'll win anyway!

Leahy's big point seems to be that this is not a party line vote, but a vote of conscience. Dems will seperately vote their conscience.

Works for me---all of them are dumbasses on their own merit.
