Because of your efforts, NBC cancels 'Book of Daniel'
Dear (just received this through e-mail),
NBC's anti-Christian program The Book of Daniel has been cancelled! Your efforts, combined with those of hundreds of thousands of other AFA Online supporters, had an impact.
NBC's decision to pull The Book of Daniel shows the power of the pocketbook. NBC didn't want to eat their economic losses. Had NBC not had to eat millions of dollars each time it aired, NBC would have kept The Book of Daniel on the air. Because of your efforts, the sponsors dropped the program. NBC then decided it didn't want to continue the fight.
Even an impassioned plea by Daniel's producer Jack Kenny could not match your participation. "Ordinarily, I would never ask anyone to do this, but the AFA and bullies like them are hard at work to try and prevent you from seeing these beautiful shows, and that is censorshippure and simple. And that is both un-Christian and un-American," Kenny wrote. His attitude is typical in todays society. Non-Christians telling Christians what is Christian.
People like Kenny don't want people like you to have a voice. They want to deny you the right to get involved. You are supposed to sit back and take the trash. And when you do speak up they call you names.
This shows us that we don't have to simply sit back and take the trash, but we can get involved and fight back with our pocketbooks. I want to thank the 678,394 individuals who sent emails to NBC and the thousands who called and emailed their local affiliates.
Thanks for caring enough to get involved!
Finally, if you think our work is deserving of support, would you please send a small donation to help us continue. Click here.
Sincerely,
Don
Donald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman American Family Association
P.S. Please forward this e-mail message to your family and friends!
Isn't it on FOX now?
It's in syndication and I believe it is censored, but I haven't checked how much is cut. One sydicated episode I checked is TV-PG instead of the original TV-MA.
Notice the networks never trifle with Muslims. They are too afraid to. Now they are learning that Christians won't take it either.
Speaking of coffee.... why not try out GOP Blend Coffee..."Coffee for Conservative Taste!"

Don't laugh. Their rating the last few times were going down...hopeful this will be a trend.
Gays, just as Democrats, live in a bubble. They actually believe this movie "Brokeback Mountain" is "critcal path" item toward gaining widespread acceptance among the American people. Of course, they are dead wrong. This movie only serves to push them further into the closet. Forget what the right wing is saying about this movie, they don't care because the impact of this flick on the general American population is nil. You ought to tune in on "Black" radio stations. The jokes are gut busting to the Nth degree. As I have said from day one, this movie will do more harm to the gay cause then gays could ever imagine. Just ask yourself this question. Did "Fahrenheit 911" get John Kerry elected POTUS? End of story!!!
So maybe now they will try to go on PBS.
I caught a few minutes of this show only because I was channel-flipping, and I was appalled by the hippie Jesus chatting away with some dumb dude driving a car. It was sick.
"Judge not, lest ye be judged" was directed at the Pharasees, who were going to stone a woman to death for adultery, which each of them had probably committed in their hearts when pretty young things went by on the street. The message is not that we shouldn't judge the actions of men...it is that we should judge in the way that Christ does, and not the way that men do. We should call out sin as sin, as Christ did. But we should do it with the kind of Agape love that wants the best for the person whom we course-correct, as we would want to be lovingly re-directed by others (such as Christ!)
A different age, I fear. (Pre-Maddlyn Murry O'Hair?)
Great tagline BTW.
My big thrill was listing "La Femme Nikita" and "America's Most Wanted", my favorite shows at the time. I hope it helped keep them both on the air - AMW at one time faced cancellation.
I asked the Nielsen rep, during our phone interview, why they had chosen me, and they said it was completely random. I assumed they got my name from the phone book since they first contacted me by phone, but they wouldn't confirm that.
Later I asked someone in the TV business who said, the Nielsens contact approx. a thousand people a week in each major metro area during Sweeps periods, which last approx. four weeks, and about half of them respond back. So approx. 500 families in my area (Pittsburgh) served as the barometer of taste for several hundred thousand people in our metro area for that particular Sweeps week.
I haven't always been happy with the tactics of Wildmon, but in this case I agree. This show was beyond trash.
I have Direct TV and Tivo.
I never ever turn the reciever off, so I guess they figure I am watching whatever channel was up when I turned the TV off.
I go several days without watching Direct TV...so I hope they don't think I'm sitting there watching ;)
My bad, Sounthpark's on UPN twice a day. Not a major network by my estimation but damn close.
It was exactly that.. and it stunk.
Let's see. Bad reviews, lousy ratings, no sponsorship. Sounds like a natural TV death to me!
This whole thing smacks of a setup from the git-go to me. Put out a show that you KNOW will anger a big part of the population. If it goes well, the wonks can say that it wasn't THAT antagonistic. If it flops, you blame the population that screamed as being intolerant idiots who forced NBC's hand (sniff, sniff, honk!).
Funny, I don't recall anyone at the networks or in the LSM making a big fuss when the NAGs and their buddies beat up on Dr. Laura's show, forcing it off the air almost before it started!
I saw an ad for the new Heather Graham sitcom on a bus. Just from that I could tell it would be cr@p.
I was thinking that I saw it at COSTCO, but I didn't. It was at one of those discount book stores, where they sell old books that were probably returned to the publisher. But this book must have had a reprint, to even be at the discount store.
It had to be in the 70's when I read it. Doctorow is full of hot air, IMO.
