If JimRob, etc. approve this is the Live Thread for the Canadian General Election, on January 23rd, 2005.
We have a while to go before the returns start coming in, but I thought the thread needed to get up and running.
Hopefully, when we wake up to a Conservative Gov't tomorrow
morning, you'll discard your dopey & treasonous tagline, eh?
(Denny Crane: "I Don't Want To Socialize With A Pinko Liberal Democrat Commie. Say What You Like About Republicans. We Stick To Our Convictions. Even When We Know We're Dead Wrong.")

Here's to hoping that you have to change your FReeper name.
Well, I'm off to vote ... one more for the good guys.
We're just so far behind the rest of the world that we use an old time paper ballot and an old time lead pencil . X marks the spot .
The BQ will almost certainly support Harper on specific pieces of legislation because (1) the Libs are so hated in Québec that backing them would destroy the Bloc's standing and (2) they share a lot of common ground with the Tories on matters of provincial autonomy and federal-provincial relations.

Cute kids! Looks like a couple of future Conservative leaders for Canada!
I have been following this election for the last couple of weeks. The real story here is how bloggers in Canada have changed the dynamic. IN fact the liberal party were filing complaints against then throught the election law(which shows why I think all these good feeling election reforms laws are often so dangerous). Anywho ,the MSM of course here doesnt want to report that. We need big prayers for this election. The Canadians are continuing to support us in Afghanistan and a big troop movement is about to occur. Whats important is that these brave men and women from next door will be in increasing danger as that they will now be going into heart of Al qaeda country. Al Qaeda will try as it does here to manupliate public opnion, so a Good Govt will need to be in place to encourage the people and also stand up to their msm. We all remeber here how the first major deaths of our servicemen were exploited by the MSM in furtherance of their Bush hatred. Many Conservative in Canada want to start to rebuild the military which will be the best think to result if a healthy conservative majority is elected.
Are you in the Maritimes? My parents summer in NB, near St. Andrews. They're US citizens and can't vote, but they are definitely interested in what goes on up there.
prayer bump and thank God for conservative websites. Without FR & Drudge the Dems would be running this country.
I don't know the last time I got so excited about a Canadian election.
I don't know the last time I even heard that Canada was having an election.
This will remove all doubt about the power of the Internet.
Go cook some Grits. I like my Grits with sausage.
I've just returned from doing my civic duty in the Ontario riding of Sarnia-Lambton. I cast my ballot for Pat Davidson, the CPC candidate here. I went to the EuroCan in Sarnia on Saturday night to see Stephen Harper at his campaign stop. The turnout was great and we had quite the cross section of the population there. Here's hoping my riding goes Tory Blue.
Only if New-Found-Land is "worth" its half a time zone.
I believe the first results will be coming in around 9:30 PM EST.
For those Americans who don't wnat to watch the liberal CBC spew on C-Span, CFRB(Toronto's news/talk radio station) has a web link to listen to their election coverage. I listened to their coverage during the 2004 election and it was more balanced than the CBC's liberal bias.
Also CFRA, Ottawa, will also has a web link to listen to their election coverage.
Ain't that the truth.
Expect a serious effort to shut the whole lot of us down in the not too distant future.
I believe the results were tallied sometime last week.
