If JimRob, etc. approve this is the Live Thread for the Canadian General Election, on January 23rd, 2005.
We have a while to go before the returns start coming in, but I thought the thread needed to get up and running.
My prediction there was Bloc by a wide margin. That would be HUGE...
Hey pilgrim! What results are you posting?
It's a running tab. Two Atlantic Canada ridings are really close and going back and forth. As is one other.
15 minutes before we can watch this live on the telly..
Yeah, Quebec could be a shocker if this keeps up...
It's horrible for the CBC's quality control. Those are the numbers for Atlantic Canada.
I'll take it. btw, watching this is as fun as it gets. It is interesting to see who will win, but I don't really care that much.
What riding are you talking about?
Not Québec- those results are for the Atlantic provinces.
Not Quebec - most of the ridings there close at 9:30. Atlantic Canada - Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick.
Thank God...this is boring and disjointed (though a big THANK YOU to Free Dominoes for the help so far!).
CPC doing amazing in 1 quebec riding that is in atlantic time zone...way better than predicted, winning actually!
(Denny Crane: "I Don't Want To Socialize With A Pinko Liberal Democrat Commie. Say What You Like About Republicans. We Stick To Our Convictions. Even When We Know We're Dead Wrong.")
TV in Atlantic Canada. People near the Canadian border (or in Atlantic Canada) can watch it.
I'm watching the live broadcast from CBC with Peter Mansbridge, I've seen two reports, one shows the Liberals with 19, Conservatives with 11, NDP with 3, and another report showing the Bloc with 1 and the Conservatives with 10. Naturally these are early results, the equivalent of "exit polling" (imho), but I'm watching the real deal, live from CBC.
All elections are fun, but this one is particularly fun, since it has so many unknown elements, and complications.
Prayers for Canada.
I'm calling BS on this.
Where are you getting your polling?
