REDACTION LOOPHOLE: ACCESS TO THE BARRETT REPORT
- by Mia T, 01.20.06
he judges who ostensibly redacted 120 pages of the Barrett report established a means by which the American people can see those redactions: Any member of Congress can legally request access to the redactions and can publish them..
The serious '"culture of corruption" in the clinton DOJ and IRS that is detailed by the report makes one wonder about the nature of the crimes and abuse that the clintons felt compelled to redact.
Even a small subset of what we do know about the redactions argues for their immediate disclosure by Congress. (Only in the surreal world of the clintons would someone suggest with a straight face that disclosure of the crime of obstruction of justice is precluded by privacy considerations.)
We know that clinton pettifoggers labored mightily and long to gut and bury this report with some 140 motions, sleights of hand... and, when necessary, the clintons' heavy hand.
We know that charges of the clintons' retaliatory IRS audits of both their political foes and their victims of rape and predation are said to be included in the redacted material.
The mutual protection racket writ large is apparently alive and well in DC. (Is Filegate rearing its ugly head yet again?)
We mustn't let Congress get away with this coverup. Call. E-mail. Fax. Don't let up.
And remember the responses on Election Day.

AN OPEN LETTER TO TIM ROBBINS, DAVID GEFFEN, CHRIS MATTHEWS, MAUREEN DOWD + JEANINE PIRRO
RE: a not-so-modest proposal concerning hillary clinton
Dear Concerned Americans,
Hillary Clinton's revisionist tome notwithstanding, 'living history' begets a certain symmetry. It is in that light that I make this not-so-modest proposal on this day, exactly 64 years after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The context of our concern today--regardless of political affiliation--is Iraq and The War on Terror, but the larger fear is that our democracy may not survive.
We have the requisite machines, power and know-how to defeat the enemy in Iraq and elsewhere, but do we have the will?
In particular, do we have the will to identify and defeat the enemy in our midst?
Answerable to no one, heir apparent in her own mind, self-serving in the extreme, Hillary Clinton incarnates this insidious new threat to our survival.
What we decide to do about Missus Clinton will tell us much about what awaits us in these perilous new times.

"My theory that the two parties are better friends to each other than either one is to the American people will have an excellent test in this one."
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>...............
What two parties?? I more and more only see ONE and that party seems to owe nothing to the Constitution or the American people.

I think this is a wonderful oppurtunity for Sen. Clinton to show that she has nothing to hide by requesting the redactions and making them public. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA (not holding breath)

My Rep., Mike Bilirakis, is a truly good representative. He would make a good Freeper- but he keeps such a low profile. If he were to do this, hehe...

There is some mileage to be had in keeping it secret: People begin to wonder what is so terrible that so much effort went into hiding it. They begin to imagine what horrible things the Democrats don't want to see the light of day. Conjecture and imagination. If the report is fully released, it is possible it may not be as bad as the public imagined. Still, if it is released, the MSM will not be able to ignore it forever.

"Is there one single member of Congress out of the entire 535 that is loyal enough to the American people that he will see this released in full?"
"If there were a way I could bet against it I would. I don't think that in the entirety of Congress there is such a person."
I disagree with you. I think there are several who will RUSH to release it. In fact I expect comptition to see who gets it out there first.
Watch for Rep. Steve King, Iowa's 5th District.

Well, next time I get a request for a donation from a Senator or Congressperson, I know what I'm going to send them:
I think a similar thing helped a lot to get them concerned about illegal alien invaders, (the Nada Peso 'bills' from SacredCowBurgers.com) no reason why it won't help with this.

Only 120 pages? Nothing to see here, move along. I wonder who's on Entertainment Tonight tonight? What did I do with my copy of People Magazine....
Morning bump!

hEY, THAT IS A GOOD ONE! I have a couple of letters from the Republicans wanting donations downstairs, I think I will use this idea.

Good grief! Let it go already. They've been gone for 5 years now.

Why wait?
Methinks a preemptive strike is in order. Unless they are saving this for some ridiculous reason. (FBI files come to mind.)
I think Mia T has it right. This is the time to remove Hillary from the political equation (2006).
I think even Hillary knows this, and while she will continue to try for POTUS, her minions were busy marginalizing the Kennedy machine during Kerry's run. That failure can always be laid on a Massachussets doorstep, leaving one dog running the kennel.
Sometimes it is better to be kingmaker than king. Doubtless, Hillary knows this and has her fall back position well prepared if she seems unelectable.
But if she is out of the Senate, that leaves the siren's call of the lucre of the lecture circuit, and such riches might keep her on the sidelines for a while.
Note, I say a while, because the money would never be enough to slake her thirst for power.
