I checked out Allofmp3.com hoping to find some Bob Seger System, Steve Hillage, or Crawler; but no luck. :-(

I've heard others say Relayer is their best.
Some of this stuff isn't so easy to find, esp. something like Tales, a double sided CD taking up shelf space, where they might if they're lucky sell one unit a month!
I'm having the same problem trying to find Tubular Bells.

That's true, generally speaking, the best of jaz guitarists have it over rock guitaists,on sheer virtuousity.
Even though he wouldn't be a virtuoso in anybody's book,I think that Pete "Windmills" Townshend has a very interesting and unique style.

i have heard page, clapton, and beck, all live, in concert (multiple times). I saw all three at the same time at the ARMS Concert (Ronnie Lane's benefit for multiple sclerosis) at the L.A. Forum in '83 (sitting 2nd row center). Beck and his band played the first set, Clapton the second, and Page (with The Firm) played the third. Then the highlight: All three came on stage together to play "Layla" (where they traded off amazing solos) and "With a Little Help from my Friends" (with Joe Cocker on vocals). Amazing show.

". However, to fans of the beloved Q (as NRBQs name is further shortened to), those beloved recordings made with Anderson between 71 and 79 contain some of the greatest pop gems never heard. On any given song, NRBQ could be just as good as The Beatles, if not better. They were just that good."
From the article ...click on the link on my last post. I can attest that is true, actually an understatement. They were just that good, for real.

I like to listen to TFTO,but just for beauty and flow, and seamlessness,I have to prefer Close To The Edge. To be really just three songs, they're always over before I know it. I like prog rock, but I have to sit down and intend to listen to most of it-not Close To The Edge. It just goes and flows and gets my attention without any effort on my part.

i'm glad there are so many jeff beck fans on this thread.
it's funny, i always thought Jimmy Page's best guitar playing was on "dazed and confused".

Saw that show in NY very cool!
Best Rock and Roll Solo ever (ask any one mentioned here) is Scotty Moore on Elvis's Heatbreak Hotel, Killer.

This is a poll of pop songs with electric guitar in them.< Nothing more.
The only song on this list that would make a bona fide 'Top 50 Rock Songs With Electric Guitar' list is 'Crossroads'.

Anything by Phil Manzanera, but especially Prairie Rose, by Roxy Music.

Relayer is good, but I don't think it really exemplifies the classic "Yes" sound.
Jon Anderson of Yes made an album with Mike Oldfield.
