Bwahahahahaha!!
The answer to that is to look to Leiberman's race. The new polling data suggests that Leiberman did lose support from Liberals for his stance on the war. Interesting development is that Republicans made up the difference.
The reality is that Democrats have voted third Party. 2000 for example. But they only did so because they didn't believe their votes were needed. When they do believe their votes are needed to keep Reps/conservatives out they vote for Dems. Whereas Republicans have a history of actually sitting out/voting third party in elections where they know their votes are vital such as in '92. If I'm a Dem strategist I calculate the Hard Left is all Talk. they won't sit out '06, because they hate us too much. Therefore cater to the moderates/Indy's/Conservatives Dems that can be persuaded to vote Rep. Republicans on the other hand need to fixate on their base, because there base has shown they don't value power enough if they believe Republicans must be taught a lesson.
Congrats on a great and loving looking family.

of course, them having this ad means one thing: they're lobbying during the hearings didn't work.
These loons are just getting funnier and funnier. They keep dodging the obvious questions.
Keeping their "group think" intact is akin to herding squirrels.
Exactly. And the outfits that put these ads together make oodles too, for themselves.
i may have a glass of wine
Which is why I think that Stevens might well retire next year...then since the courts would be solid conservative, RBG might well decide that she doesnt' want to hang around any longer...Look..in cases of age and/or health..we have no idea what will happen...Everyone wonders , by example, if Sheets will be re-elected..actuarially, it is less that even money that he will even be alive by this election day..
Re the Specter/Kennedy exchange and your "I live for such moments!" ME TOO!!
NARAL Nancy Keenan "Freedom and Privacy are paramount in these hearings. Alito means the overturning of Roe. We are disappointed that Spector has decided to vote for Alito."
i disagree; these fools ARE in lockstep.
so, if they don't have an impact, will they l e a v e and s h u t u p?
Well, I don't see Bill Moyers or Ted Koppel leaving, neither one had any impact, but they just don't have the good sense to take a hike.
I will be having several this evening, however!
They're all 4'11".
Enola Gay ( figures it was a queer B-29 that dropped the first A bomb..)
It's good, isn't it?

Great, isn't it?
Swell, isn't it?
Fun, isn't it?
Nowadays
There's man, everywhere
Jazz, everywhere
Booze, everywhere
Life, everywhere
Joy, everywhere
Nowadays
You can like the life you're living
You can live the life you like
You can even marry Harry
But mess around with Ike, huh!
And that's
Good, isn't it?
Grand, isn't it?
Great, isn't it?
Swell, isn't it?
Fun, isn't it...
But nothing stays
In fifty years or so
It's gonna change, you know
But, oh, it's heaven
Nowadays

today when I went to get my arm checked, I could barely get a word in edgewise because my darling granddaughter had been in there the day before and they were all mad for her!
I was SO proud........LOL.
55%-60% calls going against Alito?
no, I worked with a lobby group until this past May and unfortunately I was probably the only republican that worked for the Clinton/Gore 96 campaign. (yes, I still feel dirty)
I lived and breathed politics and worked with these people for about 12 years and I know how they think and what they do. They feel they WON. The delay was a victory. It was a soft fillibuster and they're happy as clams in mud.
