"I know! Let's show them our slides!"
"Oopswouldyoulookattheime.Gottogo.Bye!"
Worked every time.
I'll post a couple on the thread and leave the rest up in my photo album for you to browse. Do you have IM?

It's possibly time to get it rewired, but I would try to find those LED lights anyway. They work with a lot less heat and current, but you may not be able to use the dimmer.
Also, if loose filaments are the problem, new bulbs of the LED type will cure that as well.

Look around to see if you can find LED bulbs, perhaps in a string, to replace them. You can't replace those with a string of LEDs.
Well, I guess you could, but only if you don't care what it looks like.
Using a typing eraser pencil, with the off-white compound as its "lead", polish the bottom of the socket to remove oxidation, then blow out the little pieces of eraser.
Always turn off the breaker when attempting this kind of repair.

"You can't replace those with a string of LEDs"
http://www.trankin.com/releases/mule/MULE7268.htm
Providence, RI -- Recent advances in LED (light emitting diode) technology now make it possible to achieve consistent levels of illumination at lighting levels equivalent to traditional incandescent bulbs for a variety of applications. The new FlameTip series of patented LED chandelier bulbs now available from Mule Lighting, Inc., are such an application. These decorative FlameTip bulbs are designed to replace incandescent chandelier bulbs, while lasting 10 times longer and consuming up to 90% less energy. This combination of design and function makes FlameTip bulbs an attractive choice to fit both chandelier fixtures and budgets

In oral votes, it's, "The Ayes have it." Or, "The Nays have it."
