Day 4: Hearing Resumes
This morning, Senators will question Judge Alito during a third round. They will then go into a closed session, to review the FBI background investigation on the Supreme Court nominee. Outside witnesses may be called to testify this afternoon, as well as the American Bar Association, to discuss its recommendations.

Thanks. I see now. The Judge's sister was who txrange was referring to with the dark red hair. Nice hair btw. So the one I was asking about must be the "minder". Nothing important - I was just struck by her demeanor the past three days and wondered at it.
"That explains Ted's shakiness, then.... It takes a long time for those fat waves to damp out."
That is SO FUNNY!!! Thanks!!
LMAO!! Great point.
If they can't get callers with a smattering of brain cells they ought to cut back on the call in time and have some good guests on to explain various issues that affect the public at this time.
His assertions don't hold water. Alito is not inclined to "court strip" or remove access to the courts - that is Congress' function. At any rate, this is just some of the rhetoric that is necessary in order to justify votes against the nominee, and can be taken in that light.
LOL!!
Is it possible for a nominee to sue these lib senators for slander??? There's certainly going to be enough evidence against them, that's for sure.
This morning, Fred Grandy said he was watching last night's session on C-Span, and as it closed, the cameras were left on. Spector and Leahy were shuffling papers and chatting about something. Cameras were clicking furiously at this exchange.
Just off in the distance, Chuckie noticed that all cameras were focused on Spector and Leahy. Sure enough, Chuckie made a mad dash and positioned himself in between Spector and Leahy, and had the goofiest grin on his face, as the cameras kept clicking. Fred Grandy opined: "Senator Schumer must have been terribly ignored as a child."
Hello! Just checking in. I have no TV today (cartoons are on). Anything important happen yet?
Sabato(sp) mentioned that this hearing is over because of their behavior.
Schumer - did you see how animated he was for the photogs - waving his arms all about as in "look at me look at me"...makes me want to hurl.
That's changing. Bush won the Catholic vote and I see more Italians/Catholics coming over to the GOP. Be afraid Dems...be very afraid.
Thanks for the rundown. Schumer is on CSPAN saying that Alito has given many responses but no answers. He is an outright, disgusting liar.
When politician are in trouble they always pull out the beleaguered wife or clueless child or dog. They do this everytime. I have no respect for a man who grabs hold of a child to hide behind.
Now Schumer is portraying Alito as EXTREME.
Schumer believes that Alito has a burden of proof, including the right to abortion.
Let me see if I can find that word in my copy of the document.
Here's Upchuck. He called him an extremist.
He's still bitching about Alito's answers. He finds it troubling.
I am very sorry for Judge Alito, his wife, his children, family, friends and supporters.
The only glimmers of hope are that Alito's confirmation looks good and that the Dems are hurting their base.
Now that is a great likeness of the witch..LOL!
Only if the false accusation causes loss of reputation. And Alito is a public figure, making the case even harder to make. Justice Alito will have the last laugh on these little Senators.
Yeah..... Now Schumer is complaining because Alito didn't "distance himself" from things... Of course if he had... he would have said Alito flip flopped.
