This morning, Senators will question Judge Alito during a third round. They will then go into a closed session, to review the FBI background investigation on the Supreme Court nominee. Outside witnesses may be called to testify this afternoon, as well as the American Bar Association, to discuss its recommendations.

No, on Fox News/Dayside they were interviewing Brit in some capacity and got interrupted by a trench collapse/rescue somewhere.

The woman anchor said that the rescued man appeared to be injured, and Brit was gently mocking here saying that you'd think so since he was being removed on a stretcher.

He pointed out that they don't miss much on Fox News and that someday, he fully expected to look up an see a guy standing there...who had missed his bus. They would be asking why he missed the bus, when another bus was expected...etc.

It was a hilarious commentary on the whole FoxNewsAlert thing. From Brit Hume no less.

Don't forget that Justice Thomas was on his way to confirmation after his nomination was sent to the floor when NOW popped up Anita Hill.

I wouldn't put it past the 'rats to do something similar but considering how they botched up during these hearings they will probably cut their losses now and fold their tents.
