Day 4: Hearing Resumes
This morning, Senators will question Judge Alito during a third round. They will then go into a closed session, to review the FBI background investigation on the Supreme Court nominee. Outside witnesses may be called to testify this afternoon, as well as the American Bar Association, to discuss its recommendations.

My brother in law got one of these gag gifts for me one time, it was a spilled coffee inside a cup that looked like it come from a coffee vending machine. I thought "EW!" and was going to clean it up. I picked up the cup and I realized the gag when everything including the spilled coffee stain and straw came off the table as well.

Executive session (customary), for any questions that remain that need to be put to Alito. That will happen before lunch. It appears that but for formalities, the inquisition is over.
Leahy is, perhaps, going to give a clue as to why he will or won't entertain giving an affirmative vote on the floor of the Senate. Giving Alito a chance to describe check and balance as reigning in the President.
