Judge Samuel A. Alito’s wife Martha left the confirmation hearing room in tears this evening, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) apologized to the Judge’s family for the behavior of his fellow committee members during the course of the last three days.

Sen. Graham said: “Judge Alito, I am sorry that you’ve had to go through this. I am sorry that your family has had to sit here and listen to this.”

Democrats on the Judiciary Committee have attacked Judge Samuel A. Alito over his membership in Concerned Alumni of Princeton and his involvement in the Vanguard case.

One senior Republican in the hearing room said of the situation: “After three full days of attacks against her husband’s character, Mrs. Alito had enough. Democrat behavior during this hearing has not only been wrong, it’s been embarrassing. Ted Kennedy is nothing but a bully.”

Tears of anger over her husbands treatment and tears of frustration because there was nothing she could do about it. I don't see that as anything she should be ashamed of.

The next time Sen Kennedy opens his vodka-guzzling pipe and starts droning on and on about the whole "CAP" thing, Alito needs to respond with the following:

"It is true, I was part of a group that published a newsletter that apparently ran some very controversial articles, none of which I remember reading. I don't subscribe to those views, and in fact only subscribed to the newsletter for a year while I was interested in the subject of ROTC on Princeton's campus. I honestly don't understand why we're spending so much time on this issue, Sen Kennedy. I mean, come on, it's a 20 year old newsletter I didn't even write. It's not like I killed somebody."

That would shut the Swimmer up so fast you'd think someone put a tequila flavored pacifier in his mouth.

I heard a while ago a talking head saying that it would be unethical for Judge Alito to answer a specific question asking now how he would vote on any certain issue before the court. My Question: If it is unethical for him to answer isnt it unethical for the dem Senators to ask? I say it is.

BINGO! Rove DID plan this...it's masterful. The Alitos are already getting a lot of sympathy, he for appearing to be a helluva smart guy with good judgement and reasoning, and her for supporting him and tiring of the BS from Kennedy et al.

Rove is a GENIUS! (((((((((((KARL ROVE)))))))))))

"I could just picture old Teddie shaking and turning red."

Well, hell, just deprive Teddy of alcohol for an hour and watch the DT's set in.

I couldn't watch it on TV but if it is as reported.
I predict Keith Oberman and the leftist blogs will be claiming it was a planned stunt. (most likely concocted by Karl Rove) I expect Chris Matthews to smirk that it seemed a little bit melodramtic to him. The Daly Show will out do them all with some cheap mocking putdown of his wife, which their audience will find hysterically funny.

Remember the screaming over Lazio invading Hillary's space during the NY debates?

From my pov, Ted Kennedy should not EVER be allowed to shake a moralizing finger at anyone else. Not with a dead girl on his resume.

Wasn't he also thrown out of Harvard for cheating? Another fine bullet on his moralizing resume.

When was the last time anyone heard a liberal decry the 'politics of personal destruction.'

She was just sitting too close to Sen Kennedy, and could only stand the constant stream of hot, bourbon flavored air before her eyes started watering.

"will the MSM report this..."

Yes, I saw it first on the CNN crawler... believe it or not... while interviewing Biden.

Oh mercy. You make excellent points. If that's the best Massachusetts has to offer, can we expel them from the union? ;-)

In other news, Drudge is a pansy ass.

Exactly. Drudge was a pansy ass while all you real men did nothing but whine about Liberal bias and domination in the mainstream media.

I wish all real men had pansy-ass Drudge's guts. Call it what you want, but I call it balls to start the Drudge Report with nothing more than a home computer in a cheapie Hollywood apartment to do something about mainstream media bias with the Monica Lewinski story. Matt Drudge is as significant as Rush Limbaugh in causing the downfall of the MSM.

So tell us, Mr. I-Think-Drudge-Is-A-Pansy-Ass, what have you contributed to the fight?

This was planned weeks ago, according to my sources Lindsay Graham, Mrs. Alito and Karl Rove met at an undisclosed "double super secret" location on an island in the Baltic to plan this. They had crying coaches flown in from Norway along with doctors who installed the latest "black-op" cry-on-command tear ducts.

/h just incase a DUmmies tries to pass this off as real.
