Couldn't agree more. Some people including some FReepers are unable to perform comparative analysis and accept the lesser of evils because their high and mighty principles get insulted.
FOX is the worst news show out there ... except for all the rest of them. :-)

Peach, he was wonderful. All off the cuff, walking around the stage, including everyone. This was GWB at his very best. I don't suppose C-span will air it either. He was in Kentucky, very receptive audience.

OMG! Now he's criticizing the news for what is and isn't news. WTH does that have to do with anything?

When Ruth Buzzi behaves like Michael Moore, it's appropriate to associate her with Ruth Bader Ginsberg. She may be a Dem, or not, but she's not shooting her mouth off.
Sorry, I disagree with Rush on this one.

I didn't know that Graham had made it known already... I have to take back that it was admitted in these hearings. It was reported in WSJ online.
Anyway, just more smoke and fury from the DEMs. It comes with the territory.
Sen. Chafee of Rhode Island is considered the most likely Republican defector, and Sen. Nelson of Nebraska the likeliest Democratic crossover. In preparation for his confirmation hearings, which start Monday before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Alito has been drilling regularly since Thanksgiving in questioning sessions lasting around 30 minutes at the Justice Department, with two department lawyers doing the questioning. On Thursday, Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, one of the "gang of 14" who sits on Judiciary, joined a so-called moot court session at the White House.http://judgingthefuture.net/2006/01/state_of_play_1.php

Standard operating procedure for him.
To: GoldwaterChick
I think the president is getting better and better in his speeches and wish I'd seen today's open forum venue, where he's at his best, imo.
Schumer says Alito may have responded to 300 questions, but he's answered nothing. OMG
He's returning to Roe v Wade questions.

Thank you for posting that. I will now go to Power-line and read the rest of the recaps.

"I think the Framers would be stunned by the idea that the Bill of Rights is to be interpreted by taking a poll of the countries of the world," Judge Alito said. "The purpose of the Bill of Rights was to give Americans rights that were recognized practically nowhere else in the world at the time. The Framers did not want Americans to have the rights of people in France or the rights of people in Russia or any of the other countries on the continent of Europe at the time; they wanted them to have the rights of Americans."

What??????

If the left always claims that the Constitution is "a living document," why are they so worried that a judge may vote to overturn a previous ruling?
_________________________________________
The more clever lefties would say it doesn't just "live", it "progresses"...thus the ridiculous phrase "turning back the clock on rights". A movement toward constutionalism would, in their eyes, be regression, not progressive "life".
Of course, there is no basis for their claim.
