Thank you for posting this.

For some reason I do not understand Diamond seems to be unable to get broad coverage of this problem.

Virtually all of the info I've seen on this came from dog breeder news lists, etc.

Henry prefers cheese burgers and garbage. I can not imagine anything that comes out of a can giving him indigestion, never mind killing him.

This article doesn't appear to have any real new information, but I think it's good to continue passing the word.

Dog Deaths Surpass 100 Despite Toxic Pet Food Recall At least 100 dogs in the United States have been killed in recent weeks by toxic pet food despite a recall of the products, scientists said today. Some 19 brands of Diamond, Country Value and Professional dog foods have been recalled. Diamond brand dog food recalled after toxin detected in 23 states. Contaminated dog food which was sold in 23 states killed nearly two dozen dogs and sickened 18 more, the Food and Drug Administration said Friday. The deaths and illnesses sparked an FDA investigation into the pet food made by the Diamond Pet Food Company at its Gaston, S.C., manufacturing plant. The FDA said so far 23 animal deaths have been linked to the pet food. The company, based in Meta, Mo., issued a recall of 19 varieties of dog and cat food on Dec. 21 because some of the...

(Rochester, NY) 12/22/05 -- Some pet food contaminated with a toxic fungus is having deadly consequences. Several dogs in the Rochester area have died from the toxin and others could be sick without their owners knowing. The food is sold under the brand names Diamond, Country Value, and Professional. The recalled batches have date codes of March-07 through June-07 and were made at the company's plant in Gaston, South Carolina. Products from other facilities...

My 1 1/2 year old Jack Russell named Tootie died last March from an aflatoxin. I don't know what she ate but the vet sent a specimen of her liver off for the test. She did die of liver failure from eating an aflatoxin. The vet explained that an aflatoxin is mold but we don't know what was moldy. I have other dogs and they all ate the same food and none of them got sick so I am thinking it was something she ate in the yard. I was heart broken.
