ALITO CONFIRMATION HEARINGS
Questioning Begins Today
Each of the eighteen senators on the Judiciary Cmte. will have 30 minutes to question Supreme Court nominee Samual Alito today during round one. Sen. Arlen Specter, as chairman, will begin, then they will alternate by party in order of individual seniority. Round two starts on Wednesday.
It simply amazes me when you compare the likes and intellects of guys like Kyl to Kohl.
The Republicans demeanor, manner, reason, and rationale, is superior in every way to their Democrat counterparts. The Dems look like total fools and show with every breath, their ignorance of the understanding of Constitutional law.
LOL....I think we have ALL been posting and have been passing each other!!!
The opposition to Alito just used their break to re-group and form a new plan of attack. They're using Bork and the fact that Alito said his qualifications were excellent!
You are kind.
Isn't it funny? I know I look at it saying, "THAT is what so-and-so looks like??"
Slimey Dem. Typical.
In the hypothetical, I took it as the only factor, not one in many :-)
In a non hypothetical, there are many factors. Appearance does make a difference, but if I came in to interview dressed too suggestively then I would be not doing you as my prospective employer, as many favors. Because as an employee it's my job to make you look better.
Too many lawyers working with me :-)
Now he's trying to get him on a separation of powers question.
Yes, judges should not be usurping the powers of the legislature.
Oops...that's my fault, I can't keep up with this thread from the office :)
I find it very interesting and telling how the Dems expect, nay, demand the nominee take a political position. Yet the Pubbies are happy to just accept explanations that support upholding rule of law. They could go the other way and expect answers on their own side of the spectrum, but they don't do that. They understand that a nominee will not and should not, comment on specific subjects that would ultimately come before the SC/
And it's a good strategy. Even though I know he's BS-ing, Alito's running away from Bork is starting to tee me off.
Did saveliberty break the feed, again?
Did I miss Graham?
Kohl does not understand one thing that Alito is saying.
I just clicked on the link on RK's home page....saw the pics of BCM and BKO..sad, very sad..then I got really pissed..we have these Dem asswipes today talking ad nasueum about "rights" for terrorists..
I did have a student write me love notes when I was a teacher. LOL!
How on earth did such an incomparable bonehead become so extraordinarily wealthy?
LOL
AGAIN?
No..after Kohl, it's Sessions, Feinstein, then Graham...

Amen!!!!!
I bet when this is all over CJ Roberts will invite AJ Alito into his chambers for a drink and some good laughs at the Committee's expense.
