...sharing her forecast for 2006. Among her predictions:
***The weather will be even worse this year than 2005, with hurricanes in the Northeast, and floods in the Southeast. She blames "this damn warming trend."
**Two large quakes will occur in Asia, with two smaller ones in Washington and California.
There will not be a worldwide bird flu pandemic-- the disease will be mainly confined to Asia.
New health treatments include an insulin replacement for diabetes, a vaccine for stomach-related cancers, a breakthrough in MS involving the hypothalamus gland, and a vaccine that blocks the need for nicotine.
Gold and property remain good investments.
***The popularity of Pres. Bush and Gov. Schwarzenegger will continue to slide downwards, and Congress and the Bush administration will be embroiled in more scandals.
Troops will begin returning from Iraq.
Trains and trucks continue to concern her as far as safety and terrorism.
****The 2008 election will be between Kerry and McCain, and Kerry will win in a close vote.

Punnett's back. Interesting, he said a couple of months ago that he's been getting a lot of emails asking why all the "psychics" and "alien contactees" are all anti-Bush/anti-Republican. BWHAHAHAHA(stop to sip coffee)HAHAHAHAAA! That's a good one.
Glad to know my email was read.

How about who is going to win the Super Bowl?...A team with a lot of BIG black guys on it, in funny uniforms.
Who will win the Kentucky Derby? A horse. Trust me, I'm never wrong.

I guess they do read the emails. Art Bell used to say "...all 24 time zones...", and when we atteacked the Taliban in
Afghanistan, I looked up the TZ for Kabul, and it's on the half hour, and I knew Halifax was on the half hour too.
So, next time I heard Art say "24", I fired off an email, and a short while later, he started saying "and how ever many
TZs there are..."
Must have been a few others that started pointing that out at the same time.

Except for the last one specifically naming candidates, the rest of her list is pretty safe. She is so vague she will be able to claim hits all over the place.

I went to the site and you're right, they call it a "gland." I've been the neurosciences for 45 years and never before have I seen the hypothalamus referred to as a gland. While it does have neurons with processes that extend into the hypophysis (pituitary gland), neurosecretion (and neurotransmission via neurotransmitters) is generally not considered to be "glandular." And, the rest (and the bulk of this 4 gram structure) of the hypothalamus is devoted to electro-chemical neurotransmission.
And from WebMD: "The hypothalamus is a region of the brain that regulates sleep cycles, body temperature, pituitary gland."

Dems joining the mainstream sounds a little far-fetched. Good point. I need to rephrase that one...
