yep and Penn State this year.
They shouldn't publish a poll until the 4th week.
It won't happen, but it would be nice.

The thing about Vince is that he is just as deadly as a stand back passer as a runner, he can look over the entire field and he throws a dead accurate pass, if he gets flushed out of the pocket he can gain 5-10. Vick and McNabb dont have that ability. Young is like a better version of Randall Cunningham.

Hmm who could have imagined that a constant 3 man blitz on Vince Young would have given him plenty of time to find an ideal situation in which to throw or run with the ball.. Over and over again until he got to the end zone.
And sure, let the other team march right down the field and score a touchdown. I guess the near certainty of giving up a touchdown in a few minutes is apparently better then the possibility of giving up a big pass for 60 yards.

The VERY FIRST TIME in over 50 years, there was someone sitting in MY SEAT cheering for UT!
Hahahaha...
BOOMER!
I know what you mean. I was cheering Texas all night. It feels wierd.
I don't think my fingers will fold in the manner needed for the hook'em sign though. ;-) They keep flipping over.

It was full on the way in this evening as I went home.
From Van Nuys I could see three or four blimps, and as many planes with trailing banners over the Rose Bowl, and a couple of helicopters as well.

Man I love Longhorn Baseball too!And if Texas wins the NCAA basketball tournament, that will be the tri-fecta in a single year.

A magnificent game. Kudos to both teams, they both played their hearts out. I enjoyed the game more than most pro games I've seen on TV.

Was down in Austin for Christmas. Me and the family paid a pilgrimage to Dirty Martin's for burgers and I glanced at a picture of the burnt orange tower with the "one" one it, from 1970.
Now this. Wow!

BCS and AP voted different teams for their national championship award. For years there have been 2 awards, and that year one group gave the mythical title to LSU, one to USC Doesn't matter. If, USC wants to go by BCS rules (either they do or don't), they've only received ONE title. To claim otherwise is to reduce their legitimacy.

The UT offensive line gave Vince time to do his magic.
The UT defense held ground when it counted.
Go Longhorns!

Too bad about the bandwagon jumper, eh?

yep this one was fun to watch.

Congratulations to the Longhorns on a great game and a terrific year (from a Tech-ex who was conVINCEd you were #1 in October)!

My daughter is a UT grad, and we saw the tower lit when the women's swim team won NCCAA and we thought that was great, this is something else, though. What a game!
It's especially great because we all hate USC for a lot of reasons.

After the fantastic bowl games this year, the NFL playoffs cannot possibly measure up.Absolutely Great Bowl Games this year ....this was the topper....so many great athletes on the field!
To: DoughtyOne
The blimps land over by me at Bracket usually; not sure what is going to happen tonight, I don't think anyone's in the tower at this hour.

The big mistake was USC calling a timeout before Texas' attempt of a two point conversion. Those two points weren't worth the price of a timeout when only 19 seconds are left.
My only thought is that maybe Carrol that that losing by only one might still give USC the AP championship.
To: Liberty Valance
yeah.
The defense did just enough.
The offensive line gave up 0 sacks.
that's pretty amazing.

Go back and look at Sayers' numbers with the Bears -- even BEFORE the injury that eventually ended his career.
Would you spend a #1 pick on a guy if you knew you'd get about 950-1000 rushing yards, 20-25 receptions, and 9-12 touchdowns out of him every year for five years?
