If this project was
BOINC based [berkeley.edu], I'd be happy to volunteer my idle server for 25% of my computing resources (sorry, Seti@Home has priority). BOINC has built-in support for multiple projects. I'm guessing that Stanford was too proprietary with their project to even allow a BOINC distribution of the project.
As it stands, My computer(server) has 2x AMD Opteron 265 and 4GB of RAM. That's four 1.8GHz 64-bit cores.

I've been part of the project for awhile.. and I'm adding a few other projects to my queue... for instance:
Rosetta: Protein Folding, Design, and Docking. I don't mean to troll, but the propriety in the stanford system doesn't invite my support. BOINC allows me to connect to multiple distributed computing efforts in one client. Less bloatware on my computers.

A few questions for you ... sorry if they were covered earlier, but I haven't been closely watching the threads. Is there a team logo gif? Is the graphics mode smart enough to not render images when operating in the background? In other words, is it better to run the command line version on a slower machine? Thanks.

You would be guessing wrong, actually - there was a BOINC client for F@H in beta, but from what I understand the BOINC network had enough problems with it that F@H is opting out for now.

There's a logo up at the Stanford stats page
The graphics mode does not actually render images, unless you open up the window (ie, you double click the tray icon). When the display is closed, it's virtually as fast as the console. On a slower machine, you probably won't be able to tell the difference in the two versions.

I'm assuming team numbers are issued sequentially, right?
That's what makes it so funny to read DUmmies badmouthing FreeRepublic like "I'm surprised they even have a team! I'm surprised they can read!" etc.
How is it, O DUmb Ones, that our team number is 36120 and yours is 48157?
We even started twelve-thousand teams ahead of you, punk!
