THE LEGEND OF CRAWFORD
WorldNetDaily ^ | November 27, 2005 | unknown

While book-signings for political figures like Bill and Hillary Clinton, Ann Coulter or Sean Hannity often feature long lines and people waiting for hours, the scene at Cindy Sheehan's book-signing yesterday near President Bush's Crawford, Texas, ranch was a much more lonely affair.

Photographs published by wire services including the Associated Press and Reuters depict a lonely "Peace Mom" in a virtually empty tent awaiting those seeking her autograph on her new book, "Not One More Mother's Child."

The Washington Post reported the scene this way: "Sheehan found herself addressing a crowd of only about 100 on Saturday afternoon. The large tent where supporters had erected a stage hung with the banner 'Speak Truth to Power' was only partially full. Earlier, Sheehan signed copies of her new book for an even smaller crowd."

Sheehan's son, Casey, was killed in the Iraq war, and Cindy has been on an anti-war and anti-Bush campaign since the summer months when she began a vigil in Crawford gaining worldwide media attention.

"What if Cindy had a book signing and no one came?" asks one poster in an online messageboard. "Well we know what happened. No one cares about her but the press. Cindy is finished."

"Frankly I'm amazed the DNC/AP allowed these photos to see the light of day," writes another. "Usually their photogs do their (unlevel) best to angle their cameras and crop their pictures to make Mother Sheehan always appear to be at the center of a worshipful swarm. I'm afraid someone is going to be in hot water for letting us glimpse the truth."

I feel sorry for her. She tried this tactic to deal with her grief, the left used her and deserted her, and now she has neither dealt with her grief nor achieved anything except to look foolish.

I feel sorry for her too, she lost her son, which has to be pain beyond measure, but my contempt for her and what she is doing, being used or not, far outweighs it.

I flip between feeling sorry for the woman and despising her. Obviously her loss is great and the sullen poses of her are not always a fake. Then I hear her speak and just wish she would just disappear.

In the end she was just a tool of the left, who threw her away like trash when they were done with her. And her only true sycophants are the media who try to keep her story alive.

Exactly - she looks a lot worse than foolish.

She broke faith with her son, undermined the morale of our troops and gave aid and comfort to our enemies for starters.

Couldn't agree more. Some day she will be alone with her own thoughts, and her mind will shift from the current issues to her relationship with her son. Even she will probably come to realize that she let down his memory, and her duty to her flesh and blood should have commanded her loyalty rather than this impulsive, undignified circus she allowed to seduce her. Eventually she may see this as the attack on her son that it was. God help her.

A friend in need is a friend indeed....

Looks like Cindy's fresh outa friends. Sad, but what did she expect from the leaches. Too bad she wasn't savvy enough to see this coming. I'm sure the season magnified her loneliness.

Decisions always have consequences...

Cindy Jihad had her 15 minutes of fame long ago. She made a lot of money dancing on her son’s grave. Time for her to go home.

Sheehan accused “right-wing” sites of “spreading a false story that nobody bought my book at Camp Casey on Saturday. That is not true, I sold all 100 copies

LOL! I still hate you Cindy for discrediting your son's life!
