[history]
China will never go down, and don't think you can banish communism. Because the people won't let it. They know they are the last standing, they are the only ones left. America is in a decline while China's climaxing, America will go down. We are just done with our prime, if anything, we were going into a depression since 1992 (and don't say you don't know that year). Communism is the American's medias' worst nightmare, because of censorship. I hope we all have to read one newspaper and wipe my butt with one brand of tiolet paper. I hope we all die for our next generations to wear the red armband. We deserved 9/11, and they enjoyed it. You probably hate me now, I know, you just still think like its 1945, well too bad its 2005. We only stand to fall.

Das have you ever played Alpha Centari? It really is the continuation of Civ2.
I've only read about it. From everything I've heard about the entire Civ series (up to the Civ IV demo), Civ 2 seems to be everyone's favorite. And I get the same impression that you do: that Alpha Centauri is a lot like Civ 2.
I may have to check out Alpha; though in a very disinterested manner, you see. ;)

I am just about giddy aren't I? There are so few games that I actually like. Most are hack and slash or first person shooters or "The Sims" which really creep me out for some reason.
This one should hold me until Caesar 4 comes out at the end of 2006.

Can't wait 'til I can officially call you Doctor. And I ain't joking. Me got lot of respect for Doctors, whether medical or of phylosophy. I remember this instance when I was listening to Dr. Laura and someone called and addressed her as Laura. She ate her alive over the lines and I agreed with Dr' Laura and was angry myself. Dr. Laura got her Ph.D from Columbia University in NYC. How dare her call her Laura?
If I'm not mistaken you do have another graduate degree, is it a doctoral?

That's because I didn't get it, lol.
It was supposed to read, "got it."

AC is a lot darker then Civ2. And there is a story line. It plays a lot like Civ2 as far as the mechanics of the game goes but you also get many elements that were truly revolutionary for their time.
If you get it let me know and we can play on line.

Having played (and owned) both Civ2 and Alpha Centauri, I can tell you I prefered Civ2. I could grasp the technology concepts in Civ2 much easier than the futuristic things in AC. AC's expansion pack is nice, though.
Civ3 didn't wow me much. Although it has nicer graphics, Civ3 doesn't have as many government options. Maybe the expansion pack does, but I don't have that. If you have Civ2 already, Civ3 may not be worth the money.
Haven't played or seen Civ4.

I love the idea of anthropology, but not the study of anthropology, per se--or anthropologists in general, for that matter. Civ 2 was a way to both enjoy playing a PC game and approximate historical development, in a sense.
