It is almost scary. Worse, I thought the demonRATS actually came of with their own talking points. Now we know they don't even have a plan for that!

Thank you so much for the kudos! And I'm sorry to be late to the party, but the Downside Legacy section you are speaking of is this one:
Echelon and Other High Technology As with other subjects on the DSL, you'll find bits and pieces in other places as well.

Fine. When the government starts telling you every move you can make in your daily life, where you can go, when you can go there, how you go there, who you can go there with and how long you can stay there, then don't cry. You will have what you want, a government controlling the people, not a government OF the people. If you think you are going to get back any of the rights that are being taken, you'd better think again, because they are always going to give a reason to continue or expand what they are currently doing. Eventually, they strip little by little by little. You don't really notice it because it is like giving a few pennys today, a nickle tomorrow, then the dime, quarters and so on. They get it little by little. That adds up in the end. It adds up to a loss of the freedoms that you lose forever. So, nanny up to the government table. Give them away if you want. Your loss.

My pleasure. You'd have loved the looks and sounds of the president's feistiness today. Whoa! This is what I've been hoping for so long... The only criticism I've ever had of our President is that he doesn't get the truth out and fight back. I don't always agree with all of his views, but I've looked at it "big-picture", holistically... Overall, he's a solid President.

Rather than these idiot communist reporters, I wish W would pick 10 names out of the phone book and let them ask questions. Instead we get "What did you do wrong?" Remember the California gov election? the reportors were only asking Arnold about the groping allegation, asking the same question 14 different ways. When Arnold went that evening to a citizen's forum, the questions asked were about auto insurance and state spending.
Throw thr Press our of the East Wing of the people's house!

Hi, this morning I phoned the number you gave and asked for Karl Rove's office. The operator wanted to know why, I said I'm trying to contact Chris in that office and leave a comment. She then said, there's no Chris in that office and I can patch you through to the comment line.
So, I'm familiar with the comment line and spoke to a nice gentleman with a southern accent there.

I don't think the government is telling you to do anything except for going by the laws that people put in place for our societies.
I have no problem with Bush monitoring several communications in order to prevent attacks.
I can't imagine there would be any logic to no monitoring in the name of the Constitution and to then give the terrorists free reign to kill thousands of more Americans.
That makes no sense and was the thinking I believe behind why even Abraham Lincoln said the Constitution was not meant to be a suicide pact.
We are at war and I believe this will be going for perhaps decades in various levels.
This is the fault of radical Islam, not George Bush or the American people.
We can not accept the proposition that we have no monitoring because of liberty when those liberties to the extreme give terrorists the tools to kill us as they wish.
That would be a NO GO IMO.
I believe your views are well meaning, but very extreme.
I find no fault with the spirit of what you wish as the ideal of America at all, we're just so screwed up at this time with the war and we have to adjust to what is happening to remain alive, much less free as a bird.
This country has had lots of sacrifice for it's freedom through out history. This happens to be a time and age where we have to sacrifice the privacy of some communications for the sake of national security.
I understand your point, but totally agree with the President about what needs to be done at this time for our safety.
