Note how A-2345 targets law abiding gun owners and dealers.

Sheldon Silver is your typical soft on crime liberal. He'd much more prefer making criminals out of law abiding citizens rather than punish actual felons. Such is his twisted worldview.

12. A person is guilty of criminal possession of a weapon

in the first degree when they possess 10 or more firearms

(legally or not)

and the penalty is a class B felony.

For his next bill Sheldon Silver will propose that possession of 10 or more writing implements ( legal or not) be consider a class B felony.

Wonder if Claire still thinks it's too soon...

We can but hope that Mr. Silver gets precisely what he's asking for.

Is this the same guy I see O'Reilly yelling about because he blocks legislation to get tough with child molesters?

One and the same. Silver is famous here for being quite the obstructionist. Normally I like it when government is held up by obstructionists, but Silver abuses the priviledge.

2. Firearm dealers must carry at least $1 million in insurance in case the buyer misuses a firearm. Dealers are liable.

12. A person is guilty of criminal possession of a weapon in the first degree when they posses 10 or more firearms (legally or not) and the penalty is a class B felony.

We need to sell New York to the first sucker who comes along with $24.00! Just tell them they have 24 hours to move it!

Two police officers were recently killed in NYC. Silver is working with Bloomberg on this one. Maybe just grandstanding for political reasons, but who knows.

Don't believe it. This proposal (in one form or another) has been floating around the Assembly for a decade. Silver blocked every vote on it because he deep down loves criminals (they're his biggest voter base).

And a future legislature could very easily change "10" to "1".

"The Senate and governor continue to protect loopholes that allow gun traffickers to evade detection and contribute to the illegal gun market in this state where criminals can obtain devastating weapons that threaten our safety"

Leftists to spy on US citizens without court order!
