Pres. Bush was just on LIVE - he's mad (vanity)
12-17-05

Posted on 12/17/2005 7:26:12 AM PST by STARWISE

He's mad .. and rightfully so. Without any notice, his Sat. radio address was televised live. He's putting Congress and the press on notice that he's got the authority to do what he's done to protect US .. that Congress was notified at least a dozen times about these NSA oversights .. and that the press leaks and any such security leaks are illegal and are aiding and abetting the enemy. Whoo .. fireworks to come, and go get 'em W!

You know, this whole thing is really stupid, even for the Democrats and their media-lapdogs. The Times acknowledges they had this story for over a year. If Times knew it, then you know the Post knew it. And if the Times and Post knew it, then you know the whole Democratic Party knew, because they're really one and the same. So the story is finally printed, and all these scumbags in Congress go, "Shazam! We didn't know THIS was going on, we're shocked!"

They knew when the story was leaked last year, they knew when the White House briefed them, they knew, you knew, everyone knew it when George W gave his Axis of Evil speech on 9/22/01 when he said some of the war would not be fought in the open. This country hasn't been attacked since 9/11, something George W gets no credit for. Do these people really believe that's by accident???? Keep doing the right thing, Mr. President!

Just an observation, but....

all hell seems to be breaking loose this weekend -- and most of the major conservative talkshow hosts are on vacation the next 2 weeks.

Russert and the Sunday talkies may need to re-tape.

Rockefeller Implicated in Plot
to Leak Secret War Intel

Talk show host Sean Hannity has exposed a Democrat conspiracy to undermine Bush's war effort by leaking classified information.

An incriminating memo suggests that Democratic members of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence were planning to release classified data at a strategically-advantageous moment during next year's presidential campaign. The leak would be aimed at undermining Americans' will to fight by accusing the Bush White House of invading Iraq without just cause.

Rockefeller Connection

Democratic Senator John D. ("Jay") Rockefeller of West Virginia -- co-chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee -- appears to have played a key role in the plot. An outline of the strategy appears on a memo written by one of Senator Rockefeller's staffers. Rockefeller has long been a vocal critic of Bush's War on Terror.

An unidentified source leaked the Rockefeller memo to talk show host Sean Hannity, who read it on-air to his national radio audience on Tuesday. Go here for a full transcript of the memo.

Rockefeller admits that he instructed his staff to write the memo, but says
he never approved it for distribution .

The Senate Intelligence Committee is currently investigating the Bush Administration's case for war on Iraq. According to Republican Senator Pat Roberts of Kansas -- who is chairman of the Intelligence Committee -- the Rockefeller memo outlines a plan to, "discredit the committee's work and undermine its conclusions ... before those conclusions are even reached."

The memo urges Democrat committee members to make a show of cooperating with their Republican colleagues up to a certain point, then "pull the trigger" on the investigation during the 2004 presidential campaign, publicly accusing the White House of "dubious" and "dishonest" motives for going to war and launching their own separate investigation.

I totally agree. It's time to put those idiots in their place! They are doing nothing but putting our country in jeopardy with their betrayal.

I really wonder what would happen to the Democratic party if they behaved like this in the 1700's or 1800's. I could imagine that they would be treated like the traitors they are and hung/shot back then. Problem solved...

Now we just elevate them to higher office or simply reelect them continuosly until they die of natural causes. It's time to fight back!

I'd assume Rockefeller and go from there... I'd assume he assuredly can release the names seeing they broke the law!

"Defending the program, Bush said in his address that it is used only to intercept the international communications of people inside the United States who have been determined to have "a clear link" to al- Qaida or related terrorist organizations."

The key phrase here is people inside the United States.

These are probably people here illegally, on student visas, vacation or on work permits. According to the War Powers act the President has every right to act immediately as long as he notifies the congress or appropriate committees of his action within a certain a certain time frame and it appears he did it.

Too bad for the Democrats but this stuff is logged somewhere and easily provable.

You are exactly right, Peach.

The Justice Department has launched a criminal investigation into whether Democratic Senators Dick Durbin, Jay Rockefeller and Ron Wyden leaked details about a secret "black ops" CIA satellite program last December in a move that may have seriously compromised national security, former Deputy Undersecretary of Defense Jed Babbin said on Saturday.

No fooling?!

That would be huge!!

No. The president is acting, I believe, under the War Powers Act and is required to report back to Congress at timely intervals with the progress of the war.

Congress has not declared war on Iraq. In fact the last time Congress declared war was in 1941.

"Revealing the identity of a covert agent is the type of leak that gets people killed," Rockefeller said on Friday, "Not only does it end the person's career... it puts that person in grave personal danger as well as their colleagues and all the people they have had contact with."

What a damn hypocrite!
