(Vanity) Favorite Christmas Movies
Various FReepers | December 16, 2005 | Vanity, thy name is Owl_Eagle

Posted on 12/16/2005 12:31:40 PM PST by End Times Sentinel

Since there clearly haven't been enough vanities around here today, I figured I weigh in with one:

What are your three favorite Christmas Movies of all  time?

Me, I'm going with:

3.  A Christmas Carol (staring Patrick Stewart, 1999)

2.  A Very Brady Christmas (yes I'm serious)

1.  It's A Wonderful Life (one of the finest films of all time)

Alright FReepers, time to opine...

the building I work in.  I'm going to start
thinking of her as a human being"

A Very Brady Christmas (yes I'm serious)

The Brady Bunch was an awful show. Still can't understand why I watched it but I did and still do when it is on. Same goes for "Gilligan's Island"

My favorite Christmas movie is "A Christmas Story"

The Patrick Stewart version is my favorite too, and just about my favorite overall.

It's A Wonderful Life
A Christmas Carol
Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown
Christmas Story

Probably in that order, though the first two really tie.

Ditto---

I love A Christmas Story
I always watch Scrooged.

And Christmas Vacation is worth it to see the house turned on.

I am however,
the only human living who has never watched "Its a Wonderful Life" all the way through. I don't like it.

2.The Bishop's Wife (The original with Cary Grant)
3.The Santa Clause 2 - it's just cute.

1. A Christmas Story
2. Charlie Brown
3. Die Hard

Honorable Mention:"Griswald's Christmas", Home Alone 1 and 2

Maybe I'm whacked, but I've never cared much for "It's a Wonderful Life". It's too dark.

A Christmas Carol (Alistair Sim, 1951)Definitely that version!
Christmas in Connecticut (Barbara Stanwyck, 194something)
A Christmas Story (although it needs a rest for a few years)

My husband's favorite is Die Hard. :)

You picked my top 3 Christmas movies and exactly placed them in the order, I would have placed them...

I picked 'A Christmas Story', because it reminds me so much of the time I grew up in, and all my childhood memories come rushing back...

I picked 'A Christmas Carol', with George C. Scott because, well, I just enjoy it the most, from all the Christmas Carol movies...

And I picked Christmas Vacation, because, well, to me, its just so gosh darned funny...Uncle Eddie pulling up in his nasty RV(we call it the Greasymobile in our house), Uncle Eddie emptying the RV sewer hose into the sewer on the street, Uncle Eddie just being Uncle Eddie is hysterical...

And I love the end, ,where the sewer mains explode, and everyone is out on the front lawn, and they are singing, and then the old feeble aunt, says, "Play Ball"...its silly nonsense, but just plain old funny to our family...

"2. A Very Brady Christmas (yes I'm serious)"

Man, when Carol starts singing Christmas songs because Mike is stuck in the construction cave-in and the family rallies around him... I could have cried when the gay bastard comes limping out with lame dust spread all over him...

Then Alice and Sam get back together and... Jan ends up humping on screen... oh man what a show.
