Agreed. Germaine Greer is a blot on Australian History.
She's probably desperate these days to get somebody to pay attention to her.
I will agree with her on one thing:
"Australia is as racist as Britain, no more, no less,"
Yeah, relatively not that much in my experience. There’s a hardcore of racists in both countries, and some of them are no doubt stoking the fire in Sydney, but when Joe Normal starts rioting I think there’s a deeper reason why.
Incidently, this has been far from all over the British media. “Gratuitous” coverage my foot.
"If Australia had been colonised by any other nation but the British, it would be less racist.Horse manure. The French have a far sharper (and less historically justified) sense of innate superiority than the British. Also, had Australia been settled by the Japanese or Chinese, it would be far more racist.
