Newspaper columnist Robert Novak is still not naming his source in the Valerie Plame affair, but he says he is pretty sure the name is no mystery to President Bush.
"I'm confident the president knows who the source is,"...

I'm guessing....But it almost sounds like Novak and Woodward have the same source. Both have said basically the same thing...The story and the source are no big deal.
IMHO, The big deal in this is that Novak, in a 2005 column, said that Harlow (CIA) did not tell the truth during his testimony.

And Bob you definitely know who the leaker is, don't you?
Why isn't Bob under pressure to reveal etc.? Also, occurs to me that Bob saying the source is from the WH was a lie from the beginning.

Yes, I did just join the 8th, so what? Are you trying to attack my credibility? I had an account about a year ago but changed jobs. Also, I think the whole situation stinks to high hell and there is more than 1 person who is responsible for it. Does it make you feel big to pick on those who haven't been registered on FR as long as you?

No democrat but still just piles on Bush.
And, he was the first to print on Plame - does he have no responsibility for national security? Or do reporters get a free ride and only our leaders are held to account on what they say?

"There is a fine line between what you know and what you believe. If the President told Novak that he knows who the leaker is, does that mean that Novak knows that the President knows who the leaker is? Or just that the President says he knows who the leaker is?" No, it's not who knows what, it's when they knew who knew and knows who will know enough to actually say with certainty they know who knew. As you well know, saying you know who knows and actually knowing who knows are two very different things. Take it from me, I know about these things...ya know?

"Novak is more likely to "beat around the bush", so to speak." Beat around the bush? Is this anything like chokin' the chicken or slappin' the monkey?

That's easy for you to say.

the "leaker" leaked information to people who already knew what the information was.

"That's easy for you to say." Not really.

I may know the identity of the leaker as well. We all might if he would tell us who it is.
