Senator Calls on Bush to Take Down Attack AD
Drudge Report ^ | 12/10/05 | Drudge

Today, Senator Daniel Inouye, the Ranking Member of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee and a recipient of the Medal of Honor for his service in World War II, released the following statement:

"As a Veteran of World War II, I know what it’s like to fight a war and put your life on the line every day. I also know what it takes to win a war, and I know that politics and an attack machine like the President’s plays no part in it.

"The Republican Party’s latest ad is a shameful and disgusting attempt to distract the American people from the problems in Iraq. It may improve the President’s political fortunes, but the American people and our troops will pay the price. I hope that President Bush realizes how shameful it is to play politics when what we really need is leadership, and that he will direct his Party to take down this ad immediately."

Medal of Honor winner. Show a little respect at least. He knows what he is talking about in regards to war. Yes he should have just kept quiet, but to degrade a Medal of Honor Winner is not right.

You mean don't degrade DimWit medal winners kind of like the Dims & media degrade any Rebublican or conservative medal winners. They can smear, attack, degrade to their pitiful heart's content and then a little reciprocating name calling brings out the apologists from our end. Quit whining for In-No-Way. He brought this on himself. If he had any MOH principles at all he should ATTACK those DimWits in his party that degrade & defile our troops on a daily basis. Respect and honor is earned, not an entitlement. As someone else pointed out, Benedict Arnold had his medals as well!

Everyone who made their comments here should send them to Senator Inouye himself.

Use the "Offices" tab at the bottom of his web page and click on the "contact" option there.

http://www.senate.gov/~inouye/

You should tell friends and family members to do the same.

>> I hope that President Bush realizes how shameful it is to play politics Who's playing politics here! Kerry, Dean, and many more. They're the ones who should be condemned!

Exactly right! President Bush and Ken Mehlman are only RESPONDING TO THE RAT POLITICS being played during a time of war. And besides, why are only the RATS allowed to talk, and everytime a Pubbie says something the RATS don't like, WE ARE THE EVIL ONES? STFU.

Inouye does not know what he's talking about with respect to war. It has been more than six decades since he was involved in one, and even then it was as a junior officer.

As for the MOH, he's degraded it himself, as Democrats are wont to do in exchange for cheap political advatntage.

Inouye, like Murtha, deserves no respect. He's forfeited that right.

I left my sentiments on Senator Daniel Inouye's web page.

My Reply:

"The Republican Party’s latest ad is a shameful and disgusting attempt to distract the American people..."

Hey Senator, the truth hurts, doesn't it? I am sorry that politics has corrupted you to the point of hypocrisy. Do you even remember what it took to be brave, rather than a cowardly shill? I will pray for you, and hope your seditious ilk will see the error of your ways.

But the media is very, very powerful. We can come together and shoot down some of their lies, but most of them get through to the stupid masses, who repeat them as gospel. We've got a long way to go before the lying, weasel, Bolshevik media is really injured. They are like a 50 headed hydra.

Couldn't have said it any better. The MSM has only one duty to the Dims, assist them in every way possible to take out Bush, Cheney, Rove, and Rumsfeld, and they will stoop to whatever levels it takes. If Bush does or does not fight back, the results will be the same - they want IMPEACHMENT at any cost even the additional lives of our finest!! I SAY RUN THE ADS ANYWHERE THE MEDIA WILL TAKE THEM. I suppose in the end the MSM could refuse to run the ads, and if any more proof was needed, that would certainly show the masses the MSM's true colors. Keep on fighting President BUSH.

Inouye does not know what he's talking about with respect to war. It has been more than six decades since he was involved in one, and even then it was as a junior officer.

He knows what he's talking about.

And knowing what he knows about war, he should act like he knows . . . .

For one thing, he knows what it is like to shed blood and surrender life while back home people are telling your family to sell out and not come back.  (Hood River, Oregon.  January 1945)

Inouye, like Murtha, deserves no respect. He's forfeited that right.

They will always deserve respect for what they did for their country and for their comrades, be it sixty years or a hundred sixty years.

That must not be cheapened by the disappointment many of us feel about their partisan, party before country, politics.

I would not have believed that after Vietnam the Democrats would reemerge as the party of retreat and surrender.  I would not have believed the Inouyes and Murthas would be spokesmen for such a party.

Unfortunately, Inouye, Murtha and their ilk have compelled me to believe.

You see, when you use the Dems own words against them, it's an attack ad! But smearing our troops as equivalent to Nazi storm troopers or the Khmer Rouger as Durbin did, or saying the military is broken down and living hand-to-mouth as Murtha did, or these statements by Dean-Boxer-Kerry, why that's actually showing your support of the troops!

If Americans were as badly informed as the Dems think, we'd be saying 'President Kerry' right now.

Actually, if Americans were just a few percentage points more poorly informed, as the Dims were trying to make them, we would be saying "President sKerry" right now.

I agree to some extent, but I'm still impressed by the fact that the MSM was (and is) nothing but the propaganda organ for the Dhimmicrat party, but Bush still won and the pubs did well in the House and Senate races as well.

What worries me more now is how effectively the pubs (especially the RINO's in the Senate) are alienating the Republican base through BS measures like McCain's 'torture' bill, out-of-control spending, and complete obeisance to the K-Street gangs of lobbyists.

Like your tag line. I've been telling my lib friends that for 3 years. Talk about spitting into the wind.......

Last thing a lib wants is to be confused with the facts.
