Today, Senator Daniel Inouye, the Ranking Member of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee and a recipient of the Medal of Honor for his service in World War II, released the following statement:
"As a Veteran of World War II, I know what its like to fight a war and put your life on the line every day. I also know what it takes to win a war, and I know that politics and an attack machine like the Presidents plays no part in it.
"The Republican Partys latest ad is a shameful and disgusting attempt to distract the American people from the problems in Iraq. It may improve the Presidents political fortunes, but the American people and our troops will pay the price. I hope that President Bush realizes how shameful it is to play politics when what we really need is leadership, and that he will direct his Party to take down this ad immediately."

It's not an attack ad. The ad features Democrats in their own words.
I've only heard the audio of the ad (heard it Friday on Rush's program). To me, it's nothing more than Democrats uttering their own talking points.
I'm honored to be included with those others you pinged,
Milhous, and evidently we have progressed from the "Vasy Right Wing Conspiracy" to a real attack machine :)
We've got a long way to go before the lying, weasel, Bolshevik media is really injured. They are like a 50 headed hydra.
We have a winner.
We must fight on in every lawful way.
Oh, thank you for the addy, I am good at 5 a.m., I sent him a doozy of an email! Hope everyone else did too!
By the way, RATS: MERRY CHRISTMAS
Medal of Honor winner. Show a little respect at least. He knows what he is talking about in regards to war. Yes he should have just kept quiet, but to degrade a Medal of Honor Winner is not right.
Being that he is so elderly, maybe the Dems are forcing him to say these things. They could have told him that if he did not go with this, he would be hurt or that they would hurt his family. You know it would be different if this guy would have been yapping all along, but I find it very suspect that all of a sudden he is saying things like this. There could be underlying factors to this story. I feel I should give the guy a benefit of doubt at least for now. You know luckily, this guy will not be on TV or probably in most newspapers so I think he has caused little damage and I blame the Dems anyway. This story is just way to suspect.
"As a Veteran of World War II, I know what its like to fight a war and put your life on the line every day. I also know what it takes to win a war, and I know that politics and an attack machine like the Presidents plays no part in it. "
Self-serving, lying, pandering hypocrit - in short, a typical DemonRat.
He's saying that it's because he's the best example the Democrats have of a war hero, plain and simple. In order to continue with the lifestyles and power they've become accustomed to, each Democrat that fits the rebuttal best is called upon to speak out against whatever TRUTH the Republicans have chosen to highlight to the world.
They are a despicable lot, and they will stoop to anything to get their power back.
No Senator ..
What is shameful and disgusting is hearing a leader(Kerry) of YOUR party say that our military terrorizes women and children
What is shameful and disgusting is hearing a leader (Reid) of YOUR party calling the President a loser
What is shameful and disgusting is hearing a leader (Durbin) of YOUR party call our military Commies & Pol pots
What is shameful and disgusting is hearing a leader (Murtha) of YOUR party call our military beaten
What is shameful and disgusting is hearing a leader (Dean) of YOUR party call our military and their fight in this war as unwinable
Sooooooooooooo Senator Inouye .. stuff it where the sun don't shine
Time to remind the Senator that World War II was the last time a Democrat won a war and that they fought to win and demanded Victory at all costs.
DANIEL K. INOUYE
Second Lieutenant Daniel K. Inouye distinguished himself by extraordinary heroism in action on 21 April 1945, in the vicinity of San Terenzo, Italy. While attacking a defended ridge guarding an important road junction, Second Lieutenant Inouye skillfully ...
Sorry, but I cannot keep from thinking of a similar citation in The Manchurian Candidate. I know that Inouye's story and most similar stories are probably genuine; but they are still stories.
(I think there are one or two of these about Kerry.)

ping
The Democrats can bitch and gripe all they want but whether they like it or not this ad is right on the money and should continue to air and not be pulled.
The Democrats have absolutely no strategy for winning the War on terror. They have absolutely no vision for this country whatsoever.
And as has been said before and I'll say again. They do not have the best interest fo this country in their minds.
Their only desire is for us to have more 9/11's. And, for the focus on surveillence to shift from these terrorist groups to their critics and adversaries.
These terrorists are really getting the benefits of encouragement from Howard Dean, John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi and their kind. I think it's quite obvious whose side the Democrats on in this battle.
It's my hope that people will remember this in 2006 and decide if they really want the Democrats setting public and foreign policy for this country. Do we really want to trust these poeple with our National Security after what they've said the last several weeks about our troops in Iraq.
As has been said before "Cowards run away, brave people stay". That message for John Murtha, the so-called brave hero from Pennsylvania.
Regards.......
Paging Senator Kennedy, Senator Pelosi needs a ride across the lake to pick up her white flag at the dry cleaners.
Paging Howard Dean, your wine and cheese order has arrived.
Paging Bill Clinton, there is an intern carrying a white flag at the Supremes building. Bring your Trojans.
