We will not be playing all the artists and versions that we have. We don't have the space, but we feel you'll get enough variations to enjoy yourself. Background Information: The Englishman, John Francis Wade, wrote both the words and the music, Adeste Fideles. The Musical score was first published in 1782 in Samuel Webbe's An Essay on the Church Plain Chant in 1782. John Francis Wade first included it in his own 1751 publication of Cantus Diversi. The lyrics were first published in 1760. If you hear someone using tissues, it's MoJo. This song has watery effects. To our British and Aussie allies, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Background Info: Joy to the World The words and lyrics of the old Christmas carol 'Joy to the World' were written in 1719 by Isaac Watts (1674-1748). The father of John Watts was a Non-conformist and so extreme were his views that he was imprisoned twice. His father's influence over Isaac was demonstrated when he choose to attend Nonconformist Academy at Stoke Newington in preference to a University. Watts was ordained as a Pastor of an Independent congregation. He wrote many hymns and Carols and was awarded a Doctor of Divinity degree by the the University of Edinburgh in 1728. The music to the carol is by George Frederick Handel (1685-1759). MoJo Thought: Have you ever noticed while reading articles that when referring to GOD that many folks decide to write it *G-D*? What is that? Is it supposed to mean that it is less potent and offensive by keeping the *o* from appearing? My suggestion to these folks isn't to use God at all. If you can't add the *o*, don't write it. This is true for those of you that believe or don't.

Good evening/morning, radu. Look at you all dressed up and ready for Christmas. Are you cold too? Everybody, all across the states, is colder than me.

Genre: Rumba/Jazz |
Artist: Various ( This song is on a CD I had laying around loose with no cover. I have no idea as to how I came into its possession. I have the individual artists' names but not the name of the group. The name of the CD is "Afro-Cuban Project." ) |
Song Title: Rumbata |
Translation: Rhumba |
General Theme: He's singing about how wonderful the rumba is. |
Side Note: A "rumbata" is the main percussion instrument in this type of music. Turn up the volume. The file has been edited. The slow and boring start has been removed. By the end of this rumba you'll be accidentally knocking over furniture. If you don't like the percussion and rhythms in this song then you are denying your own primal genes and/OR you have cheap speakers. :-) |
Additional: Support the artists you hear in the Canteen. Buy their music! Glad to hear things are going well!
I'm finally getting Christmas things together for the family...........the Troops came first. :-) That got me in the Christmas mood.
The kitties are still all alive and well. Lance is a bit perturbed right now. He had his surgery yesterday and isn't very happy with me at all. *snicker*
Valar has his turn Monday. That catches us up again...........til the next newbie shows up. *sigh*
You should know me better....these critters are MORE than well-fed! LOL! I need to post a pic of The Rotund One if I can find it. No missed meals for him. That durned cat weighs 16 pounds!!!!!
But NO CHOK-LIT for the kitties. The chok-lit is MINE!!!!!

Yes, as you know, I am the captain in this house. I set my own hours and go to sleep when I am good and ready to go to sleep.....after the admiral gives me permission. Tonight she was in a giving mood so she let me stay up late and entertain the troops. She said that if I fill out the reports correctly tomorrow then I can stay up late tomorrow night, too.

EEEEEUUUUUU!!! Gotta work at the mall? I feel for ya! Not much fun this time of year.
I THINK I might actually get to sleep in a little in the morning, for a change. And a welcome change it will be! LOL!
You get a good night's rest so you'll be better able to survive the "fun". :-)
