Ahhhhh, Fatima Yechburg, I remember her well !!!!The beer with the foam on the bottom !
Had IC for the first time last year while at the airport out there. Surprised by how bad it didn't suck. Actually had a second.
Though a native Pittsburgher, I'd have to say your understanding is right. They did, however, do alright as the original contract brewer for Samuel Adams. There have been some downright bad ideas from them, though...does anyone here remember Hop 'n Gator?
Ping!
I ate at TX Roadhouse (roadkill) once, the steak was a poor cut. I ordered a t bone and it was only 1/2 inches thick. The service was lousy. I refuse to go back.
Anyone remember "Tech Beer"? We used to get it in cases of tiny bottles, about 7oz or so.
Never had it or heard of it. But I cannot fathom a brewing company going under in today's multicultural minibrewery alcohol soaked market, unless their product was so bad that no one was buying it..........
It's a 'Burgh

(can't stand the stuff myself)
OUCH! Thats gonna leave a mark! Iron City beer is pretty much water out of the tap anyway.
Arn City going away??? I am in mourning.
This icon of the 'burgh cannot go away. Nasty tasting? Depends on whether the Mon Valley furnaces were cranking or not. It is flavorful unlike the water-like tasting Bud, Coors, Miller, yadda, yadda, yadda.
Sure hope someone comes to the rescue
had a distributer friend bring a case back from a trip out that way. IC was ok, the aluminum bottle was really cool tho.
he also brought back a keg of dogfish head 90.. which was MUCH better stuff.
Ping Ping Ping
Schaeffer was worse. Winos used to turn down Schaeffer
Those were the days. $7.00 for a case!
BTW, my first beer was a Genny.
Another brewer headed under. I'm noticing a trend that began in 1999.
Hey, that's when I quit drinking.
Guy on the radio here today was talking about this and he said "Iron City Beer will make you return stuff you've never stolen".
It's a Burgh thing. A lady from Texas couldn't possibly understand.
