Ann Coulter just finished her speech at UConn, and she was Great! Completely shutout Uconn's liberals.
The lefties showed up in significant numbers but the majority of the crowd was definitely for Ann. Of course the liberals went absolutely nuts during the speech but Ann Coulter just em down, every SINGLE time! And the majority of the conservatives would stand up and cheer everytime they started trying to act up.
At midpoint through her speech some liberals got a hold of the PA system and played a song through the speakers, I couldn't tell what it was. It effectively shut out Ann's speech. I figure some students must have had help from UConn faculty to oranize that. If anyone remembers, during this point the liberals started chanting "you suck", I was the guy in the front that stood up and yelled "No, You Suck!" and put and my arms out in the air and kept saying "what!". They stopped chanting and nobody said anything so i turned around and started clapping and then sat down.
After this charade, they finally got the music off the PA and Ann Coulter was just like "Allright, you want play games, lets see what you got?" and invited everyone up for questions.
Just about every liberal who went up got completely shut down by Ann Coulter. It was hilarious! Every liberal would stand in line all proud like they were gonna show Coulter, but after their question Coulter just shut em down with her answer they ended up walking back all shouting and swearing under their breath. Everytime they got shutout the crowd would started cheering for Ann Coulter's response. The liberals could never give up and keep shouting into the microphone so they would pull the mic out from them. They would always just sit their yelling and finally storming back all swearing and muttering under their breath. I was sitting right up by the line so it was amusing to see how frustrated they got.
A couple liberals in my section would get up screaming some nonsense, and i yelled out "Show some respect", twice they took a look at me and kept their mouth shut. But the third time a girl got up and yelled "$16,000 down the drain!!", so i turned around and was like "show some respect!", the girl looked at me like she was possessed by the devil, she kept screaming "Show some respect!! show some respect!! I'll show respect!! I'll show you" her friends had to grab and make her sit down, i was gonna say something else but i couldn't help laughing and just turn around. Pure example of a foaming-at-the-mouth liberal.
Since the speech was cut short and they went straight to the Q and A, Ann Coulter was only up for a little over an hour. Kind of dissapointing the liberals disrupted it but atleast Ann Coulter made each and everyone of them looking barking fools! Priceless.
I agree, the "speech" itself was not Ann at her best and it was probably good that she cut it short and went to the Q&A. The give and take of the bantering is actually where she shines and once things proceeded to this point, she did shut them down.
Been there, done that, got the shingles (the disease AND the diploma).
If my money had went to pay for Ann to speak, and I was not able to hear the speech, I would be filing a lawsuit against those who breached the peace of the people, and did so with malicious intent.
Then after the speech, someone would have gotten their a$$ kicked outside. This would teach them something their parents should have taught them when they were 5, called (respect).
Airborne all the way!
Ahh, well i was in the front of the crowd. Just behind the reserved seating, so maybe my view was a little different. I thought she did a bangup job, and every single disrupter that went to ask a question went completely livid by her response and when people started cheering they just ran back swearing and cussing her out. Especially with the smug attitude every single one of them had in line. I would say she shut em out.
Good question for Alan. . .where does he live anyway?
All these years; and he still cannot see the forest for what it is. . .
Think Anne sounded a bit frayed; perhaps tired AND exasperated. . .as should not be surprising. . .and frustrated as well. . .not just with college Libs; but having to deal with the counterfeit assumptions posed into questions by Alan. . .
She did hint at a possible law suit against the campus Democrats. . .
Unbelievable these students - Democrats for Jihad - might better describe them. . .cannot see their own contradictions; much less care.
Of course, we all know, these Leftists do not accept 'free speech'; unless it has their message, contained therein.
[... guess Ann didn't do too well on H & C...]
I think her audio feed was on delay. Made the interview
choppy. There may be a troll in the sound booth at Fox.
Signed... Conspiratheoristopublican
But that would be among people who respected other people's right to disagree. Shouting down, swearing at, and playing music over a speaker they disagree with is the the left's idea of "free speech". The irony of them trying to shut up a person they disagree with by those tactics is completely lost on them.
Maybe my view is a little distorted.
But also i saw Ann Coulter debate Al Franken in Hartford and during that dog and pony show, the liberals complelety erupted after everything Franken said and booed and cussed everything Coulter said. Ann Coulter definetly got beat out on that one. I think she definetly held her own this time, and made complete fools out of every liberal disrupter - Minus the few WAY OVER THE LINE comments she made.
A SHUT OUT can be subjective. We adults do not consider
"dissing" as important a score as do college students. It's too
bad that Ann must jab from the left to be right.
I agree that the Q&A went much as you describe... but the shouting, chanting "you suck, you suck, you suck" and then the music tapped into the pa system was disgraceful and caused her to cut just stop the speech.
In a twisted way, they actually made many of her points for her, but those stupid little bastards will believe they got a victory of some sort.
In the end, I would say that the liberals actually convinced more kids to become conservatives than Ann did. They made a very good case for avoiding such a narrow minded and hateful crowd.
LOL. After the Boombox incident (i thought they got into the PA system?), they had the Q and A, at one point the liberals started acting up again and she was like "No, you just had your two minutes of hate children! Do you need two more?"
"The left is STILL mad at Al Capp and think he went completely bonkers."
Okay refresh my memory...I remember Al Capp, the author of the L'il Abnor comic strip, that he had an artificial leg, was Jewish, and a great American but don't remember a faceoff with hippies.
WHAT is so threatening about another point of view?
Stating the obvious... in case someone is listening...
These college students must be VERY insecure about
their ideas, if they are this unwilling to hear (or
allow to be heard) an opposing opinion.
Like????
yeah, I was just wondering the same thing... I couldn't hear everything, but I certainly did not hear anything over the line, not in this crowd.
She said some things that might not be conventional to say in church on Sunday, but given the crowd I thought she managed to spar very effectively and without playing their game.
So what comments did I miss (while the cretins were drowning her out)
OK. I went to hear a speech by one of my favorite best-selling authors with the intent of hearing what she had to say about current events. The fact that many liberals showed up trying to disrupt her speech and this event, and Ann Coulter made them look like absolute fools in response - I'm gonna be happy about it. Yes, i was one of the one's cheering for our side every time. It's too bad it had to be that way. Like i said to the barking moon bat going into an epileptic seizure in the middle of the audience, if you don't want to hear it why dont you just leave?
The only one of note i can think of is when one person asked what she would say if she had a daughter and came out of the closet. She responded by saying "Did I mention you were adopted?".
Yeah it's joke, i understand that. I think if she avoided all the homo-bashing, and the women's right to vote thing, She would of persuaded alot more moderates by being the practical one in front of a bunch of foaming at the mouth liberals.
Was it really that bad in back? Where were you seated? It seemed like mostly applause in front. I realize i was closer to the reserved seating but it also seemed that most of my section and behind me were cheering for Ann.
