Is a Bush endorsement of McCain enough to sway your opinion?

Some on the morning talk shows suggested that McCain is the natural successor to Bush for his committment to the war, and that Bush will "pass the baton" to him.

My question is: if Bush endorses McCain will you think aboout voting for him? Personally I don't care for McCain for a number of reasons, but if I think he will continue W's legacy, I might reconsider.

Here's the difference between Republicans and Democrats...Demorats know the only way to have any power is to be in power, so they rally around their candidates and put their individual pet causes aside. You rarely hear they arguing on individual issues. Republicans quibble, like babies, over every issue, like there's one candidate that will be for everything they're for. That's why we're going to lose and this Country will go under.

Not just that, but a few weeks ago Jeb endorsed a proposed bit of Florida legislation that would have mandatory Spanish language instruction for all early elementary students. Think he is going to do any more about the immigration problems? He's not acting like he expects anything except continued, massive immigration from Central and South America.

That's just great. It would be better if the kids were taught to read and write proper English.

No...never. I live in Arizona and have refused to vote for McCain the last two election cycles in which he was the Senate candidate.

McCain has helped trash the 1st Amendment with his CFR legislation. He's attacked the 2nd Amendment with his stupid gun show legislation and showed himself to be an enemy of gun owners. His insulted Christian Conservatives. Finally, he's an "open border" puke with his support of amnesty for illegal aliens (which we're also being overrun with here in the Southwest).

I appreciate his service and sacrifice to our country as a POW. However, as a politician who has proved himself in opposition to many of the things I hold dear, the man is an a$$wipe.

If it comes down to Hillary vs. McCain, I'll probably stay home and wait for CWII to start...may as well get it over with...

I wouldn't vote for Bush again, no matter who endorsed him... so what would I care about his endorsements. Similar stripes. One is compassionate and not conservative - and the other is crazy and not conservative.

President Bush showed how 'conservative' he was with his nominating Harriet Miers, and with his C.F.R. stand on Israel. His W.O.T. started well, but of late he depends too much on the wusses of his daddy's administration. Condi Rice is an embarrassment - but that is what you expect from a C.F.R. clone.

I think you're right Hildy. Party loyalty is not a GOP positive. Personally I think that McCain will be taken out of the race before 08. He is aging and his cancer is one of those that invariably returns with a vengence. I don't think of him in terms of the GOP nominee. I do think that Hillary will be the Dim nominee.

When we, the voters, finally get principled enough to not vote for the lesser of evils... then we can expect a part of principle will gain acceptance.

Voting AGAINST McCain is just that - a vote AGAINST McCain. It would not be a vote FOR anyone, and to suggest such nonsense is why we are in this pickle with mediocre Republicans.
