Is a Bush endorsement of McCain enough to sway your opinion?

Posted on 12/04/2005 9:19:56 AM PST by cubram

Some on the morning talk shows suggested that McCain is the natural successor to Bush for his committment to the war, and that Bush will "pass the baton" to him.

My question is: if Bush endorses McCain will you think aboout voting for him? Personally I don't care for McCain for a number of reasons, but if I think he will continue W's legacy, I might reconsider.

What do you think?

you will be voting for WHOEVER is the Rep candidate

Probably. The Dems have failed to produce an acceptable Pres candidate since JFK, although RMN was preferable even then.

WOW....thanx for the info. I had no idea about that--all I remember was hearing him SAY on TV that he is pro-life when he was asked about his views re: abortion by a reporter. I'm not surprised by it one bit, however, 'cuz that's where I would expect this evil SOB to stand.

Then support the others. A protest vote and a vote of conscience is fine. But just accept the fact that such helps Hillary. If she wins in a squeaker, be prepared for her presidency.

Actually, it would only serve to reaffirm my opinion.
Cripes, as if his endorsement of Arlen Spectre wasn't bad enough...

Where do you pinheads come up with these vanity questions anyway?
Don't you have anything better to do?
Perhaps put up some more Christmas lights?

Doug,

I respect your opinions far more than many I read here.

I agree that the Hildabeast would be the worst possible option to be elected POTUS. (If she were to become affected with such a severe case of VD and crotch crickets that she was forced to resign her Senate seat for health reasons, I would feel bad because she is a borderline human, but the Country would be better off.)

With that said; I just can't agree that McCain could ever be an option to beat her in the Nov.2008 general election.

When the Demonrats embraced gun-control, abortion, and queer marriage, the demonrats lost enough of their "single issue" base to lose control of everything.

A McCain nomination would effectually give them those voters back, there would be little difference. Those voters would go back to voting based on who knows what?, and we would lose everything we have gained.

Can anyone name a Republican that has ever been elected President that has embraced those repulsive issues like McCain has?
Just my humble opinion.

That's why Right-thinking Americans should begin to leave the GOP in droves. Those who support the Constitution, our sovereignty, our borders, limited federal control over our lives, etc. are not welcome in the GOP. The GOP Establishment is doing everything it can to refute the principles it used to believe in.

I appreciate your position. If Hillary comes to power, we may not have to worry about a Constitution or sovereignty again.

I was thinking a while ago how happy I was to see such a large response on this thread. It gives me hope that McCain wouldn't be the '08 nominee (not that I plan to vote for the GOP candidate in the 1st place, unless Pat Buchanan returns & is then nominated. Fat chance of that happening though!).

hearing him SAY on TV that he is pro-life

You gotta watch all of 'em every minute. They will say any, any, anything to get elected.

Personally speaking, an endorsement from Bush wouldn't sway me one way or the other. I'm in the minority here when I say I like McCain. Whether I'd vote for him or not remains to be seen.

I am of the firm belief that an active military career should be a part of any Presidents' resume. That's not the most important thing of course, but a guy should serve his country before he can become its' commander and chief.

As of now, I don't care what President Bush says or who he may endorse in the future.

Regards;

Little envy there?

Zero, zip, zilch, nada.

I agree - I'd have a hard time voting for him. But it depends on who the opposition was.

If Bush endorsed McCain, that would indue me to suppport McCaim as much as Bush's nomination of Harriet Miers induced me to support her for SCOTUS, i.e., NOT AT ALL.

Come DFU. Lay off the dramatics.

If the Repubs do not get on message - that boogeyman will not work in '08.

The SP nominates Mc and it is Hari-Kari, plain and simple.

The Constitution, American sovereignty, & our borders have been in the process of being destroyed long before McHillary was even born.
