Yeah, Hall teaches at the American University, I think is the name. She teaches journalism. As IF she's qualified!

This weekends program was especially interesting. Burns was really surprised with Gabler's viciousness and outrageous comments.

"there must be holding to account for their criminal recklessness"
There is and you are participating in it right now. We initiate and tomorrow our words, ideas, will be picked up by the rest of the new media.

I've said it before -- will repeat myself. Can't we switch McCain and Lieberman GOP to Dem and Dem to GOP... I'll take a RINO Lieberman faster than a GOP McCain these days.

The thought of MORE TORT REFORM scares me to death!

This year in GA they want to put caps on attorney fees! can you imagine? What is conservative about a bunch of suites sitting under the golden dome deciding how mucha professional can make? HUH?

I am not for the gov't deciding how much anyone can make. I am not for the gov't making any one profession a "protected class" and deciding they can't be held responsible for their actions, or negligence...

I thought us conservatives were about getting the gov't OUT OF THESE THINGS!

To pepper spray Whiney Helen?

Nope! Pepper spray doesn't work. Try a Crucifix, a mirror, a wooden stake thru her heart while she's asleep in her coffin; these things might work.

Both vampires, see?

Are they planning to prop up the papers with SOROS dollars in the form of left wing advertising? or are they so anti-capitalist that they don't undertstand that the size of the information in a paper is directly related to the amount of advertising dollars the paper brings in.

Understood. I understand the idea of limiting awards but I was thinking about other things. For example, why not have loser pays for frivolous lawsuits? Why should organizations like the ACLU be guaranteed reimbursement for law suits they bring? Why can't we fix the problems of class action suits and judge shopping to find liberal judges who will support any wacko law suit?

As for award limits, in the end I don't have much of a problem with that either. Most tort reforms limit punitive damages but allow unlimited compensatory damages.

I have no problem with loser pays... except that we have a judge pull that is stacked with MORON judges....

I like the idea of stopping the judge shopping..... EXCELLENT!

I think that caps on Class Action Suits would be good- just because the attorneys walk away with bundles and the actual victims get a $5 coupon....RIDICULOUS!

But to say Doctors are a protected class and can only be sued for $XXXX is FILTHY! FILTHY FILTHY!

I hear more people whine about the system... and these same people will lie, etc to get out of serving on a jury. SCUM! PURE SCUM!

When you leave the system in the hands of jurers and them stack them with people with a 7th grade education... we get what we deserve.... IT IS OUR DUTY TO SERVE! PERIOD! NO EXCUSES!

You wait... in time we will see the doctors doing "better" work on high powered CEO's, (cause they didn't put caps on econimic damages) while SR citizens get deplorable care....

It is not the gov't place to protect doctors from their own negligence. caps do NOTHING for frivilous suits... it just discourages suits all together.. the legitimate suits as well....

I WATCHED MY GRANDMA KILLED BY THESE PEOPLE! She had no cancer, no alzheimers, nothing. SHe just fell, and they couldn't keep her hydrated, and clean.... FREAKIN' SCUM!

But of course- to sue them would merely pay the attorney fees... that's IT! the CAPS leave them able to do this to another grandma... my granma worked her entire life.. walked to work everyday! Taught children! She would have never let anyone suffer what they did to her...

IF these same people have done this to a newborn child they would be charged as criminals- let alone the civil suits....

SCUM!

We love lawyers in the Keys. They love to fish.
We take them fishing and while they are sitting back taking a nap someone cuts the hook off their line and we use a big sinker to drop their now hookless line down to the bottom.
After three or four hours we tell them to bring in their line and check the bait.
Every time we tell them they had a big fish on and it bit their hook off. Works great.

Thanks, maggie. I happened to see that and read the transcript. If I was a doper, I'd want some of what that woman is smoking. Then I, too, could pretend that loss is victory, failure is winning, and abandoning another entire country to bloodshed and oppression is a worthy thing for Americans to do.

I DO understand what you've been through, having seen similar experiences.

All I was getting at is there are ways to reform the system.

As for doctors, none of the conservatives I know want to protect incompetitant or bad doctors. The goal is to stop the fivilous law suits, as you pointed out. The only question is how to do that. For doctors who are really bad, and sued, I know there are hundreds of others who are sued wrongly. The situation is how to seperate the good from the bad, and eliminate bad doctors while not harming the good ones.

To be honest, the AMA should be involved in the, but they won't do anything I'm afraid.
