I may get shouted down for saying this, but I don't like these stories about the president crying. The family does not help him by sharing this intimate detail. It may or may not be unpresidential to cry in these circumstances. But it is unpresidential to be known by the American people, and our enemies, to have cried over one dead man.

I can understand where you are coming from, however I will remind you that a much better man than President cried. "Jesus wept" is the shortest verse in the bible.

I won't shout you down, but I do disagree. I don't care what our enemy thinks. If his tears are genuine then it is appropriate for him to share them with the families. The only thing that our enemies understand is strength...that we can project by capturing and killing them...it really doesn't matter if president Bush sheds a tear or not...they will be killed or captured in the long run.

It was President Bush's choice to have met with the child's family. There is no reason on Earth that anyone cannot cry for a good cause, or a disappointment, or glee.

I'm a retired CEO, and when my wife sings a beautiful solo in Church, my eyes well up with tears of joy.

I was thinking the same thing. Next thing you know, Dubya will show up on Oprah and they'll have a big ol' tear fest.

Different men react differently. Bush's place in history is well made, and this won't hurt him.

'I may get shouted down for saying this, but I don't like these stories about the president crying.'

Nothing wrong with him crying.  I shed a tear for each lost soldier I have trained and their families.

It only steels my determination to provide the best training these guys and girls could ever receive.

Are you kidding? The American voter is so wishy-washy and touchy-feely. They eat this stuff up. That's how Klinton got away with so much.

How else do you propose the WH fight the leftist propoganda trying to make America lose the war?

This is mild, and show soldiers and their families that he is on their side and cares about them and their mission.

I guess you would have him take back the tears he shed amongst the Firemen and Police at Ground Zero?

I don't think the President cares what others think. He is sharing the pain of a family who has sacrificed a loved one in a cause that is greater than most people can understand. He knows that it is on his word that these noble warriors have stepped forward to place themselves between the terrorists and us and he carries that heavy weight every day.

This man has made sure that he sees the faces of those who have been left behind, it is a debt of honor he pays to them and it must be a heavy price he personally pays.

What you think, or what I think, or what the enemy thinks doesn't matter. He has been bearing this burden every day for over two years and it has not weakend his resolve. To see a debt of honor as a sign of weakness would be foolish indeed.

to have cried over one dead man.

He's not crying over one dead man/soldier.

He's crying with a mother /father/grandparent etc. standing in front of him and talking about that son/daughter.

A son/Daughter that made the ultimate sacrifice

No shouting, but I certainly disagree with you.

If Jeremiah, David, Paul, and the Lord Jesus are any indication -- and they are -- real men most certainly do cry appropriately. It's a sign of humanity, not of weakness.

The Prez honestly cares about our troops - his tears are honest and clean. Real men cry over the losses of good men and women, fake men cry when the camera catches them laughing at the funeral of "a close friend".

Stuff it.
