For about 20 minutes Tuesday, the MacKenzie family met privately with President Bush as he offered sympathy and listened to stories about Pfc. Tyler MacKenzie, a 20-year-old solider killed in Iraq earlier this month by a roadside bomb.
"We cried, and I had to pull out some Kleenex and give it to everyone else," Tyler's grandmother Mary MacKenzie said.
"I had to give some to the president, too, because he didn't have any."
Both David and Julie MacKenzie, along with grandparents Emmett and Mary MacKenzie, saw Bush speak at the Brown Palace Hotel before the Secret Service moved them to a quiet room to meet with the president.
Emmett MacKenzie, a 75-year-old Korean War veteran, said Bush reassured them that there would be no pullout of troops until Iraqis could provide their own security.
"He said we wouldn't quit, and we told him we didn't want to quit until the job was done," Emmett MacKenzie said.
"We want to continue, and we're behind him 100 percent."
How else do you propose the WH fight the leftist propoganda trying to make America lose the war?
This is mild, and show soldiers and their families that he is on their side and cares about them and their mission.
When a man sheds a tear over his own pain, it is weakness and self pity. When he shed a tear over another’s pain, it is a sign of strength and compassion.
A real man is not ashamed to cry over another’s pain. President Bush is a man.
I guess you would have him take back the tears he shed amongst the Firemen and Police at Ground Zero?

This man has made sure that he sees the faces of those who have been left behind, it is a debt of honor he pays to them and it must be a heavy price he personally pays.
What you think, or what I think, or what the enemy thinks doesn't matter. He has been bearing this burden every day for over two years and it has not weakend his resolve. To see a debt of honor as a sign of weakness would be foolish indeed.
He's not crying over one dead man/soldier.
He's crying with a mother /father/grandparent etc. standing in front of him and talking about that son/daughter.
A son/Daughter that made the ultimate sacrifice
If Jeremiah, David, Paul, and the Lord Jesus are any indication -- and they are -- real men most certainly do cry appropriately. It's a sign of humanity, not of weakness.

Everyone already knows this President cries. This isn't breaking news.
SO, what's the big deal about crying? It is human nature to cry. It doesn't show weakness or an inablility to lead just because one cries. In fact, it shows a sensitivity to the pain and grief of others. Had he stated that he couldn't take this any more and we should pull out, then I'd say...keep him away from the crying families.

..'one dead man' is someone's son, grandson...maybe husband, father, certainly friend.
My goodness, the President has a heart, and on his orders he set in place the battle to commence & this 'one dead man' stepped up to the plate ...to be counted.
Our President genuinely grieving over 'one dead man' is certainly more respectful than that previous president who shed fake tears at the drop of a hat.

President Bush has choked up, if not teared up, as he looks out over the troops when he addresses them at the various bases.
President Bush respects and honors those that serve our country and he grieves for those that have given their lives to ensure our safety and freedom.
Thank you Pfc. MacKenzie for your sacrifice. We will never forget!

Having a few tears, or moisture of the eyes, is not "crying". If some people don't know the difference, I can't help them.
I always get choked up - and often have tears - when "God Bless America" is sung.
If an individual is devoid of human emotion and compassion for suffering and noble sacrifice, there is something wrong with them.
It is the weak who worry about what someone may say about their heartfelt tears.
Don't confuse heartfelt emotion and compassion with the cold theatrics of those such as Bill Clinton.
Take that Momma Sheehan and your cadre of hate-America surrender monkeys.
