My Post Office Experience Today
Posted on 11/28/2005 2:17:49 PM PST by maineman
My daily trip to the USPO was one for the books today. As I was having my packages stamped a Women came along side of me and asked the clerk if they sold any stamps that didn't promote violence. The clerk was miffed, I was pissed, as she cut into my space. The Women said the American Flag stamps represent murder around the World. I suggested she move to Cuba as she will be able to buy several books of Castro stamps. She called me a Bush-Fool, a new one to me. I asked her to tell me exactly how we were killing people around the World...I-R-A-Q was her answer. I told her we were spreading Democracy and asked her to get back in line. As I left she yelled that I was a rightwinger, I told her "MERRY CHRISTMAS". That ticked her off. Thought I'd share.

Y'know I still see "Gore-Lieberman" bumper stickers around Harrisburg (PA).That's nothing: There are still people in the Twin Cities with Wellstone campaign signs in their yards.

That's right, they came out recently, just a couple of days after I last went to the PO for stamps. I usually get them from our bank, and they have a limited selection.

That's nothing: There are still people in the Twin Cities with Wellstone campaign signs in their yards.OK, you're right. Wellstone yard signs are worse than Gore-Lieberman bumperstickers on any scale you chose to measure by (ie. the "I-too-lazy-to-remove" scale, or the "I-just-can't-give-it-up" scale.)

what is it about Commies and the Post office? I went into a post office here once, and noticed there was a car with a Kucinich sticker. I bet myself I could pick out who it was once I got inside. Immediately I saw a guy at the counter in a shabby cardigan sweater ranting at the PO worker. I wish I would have said something about the election, but I honestly was afraid he would've went into a rabid rage on me. I was not prepared for that.

I once made a senior citizen woman cry when she engaged me on a post office line at the FDR Station in NYC. In the middle of my pro wrestling promo-like tirade, I even made reference that she must have been a hottie on V-J Day, and probably was banging 4Fs while her boyfriend was being shot at by Japanese in the Pacific.
My advice: don't just take it, dish it out and make her cry. ;-)

I assume you mean the Madonna stamps. The stamps TX Bluebonnet posted in #35 are holiday stamps. Christ is the reason for the season!

I have never heard a complaint about the size or weight or paper
work involved from any employee.
Believe it or not...
I got the same kind treatment at a West Los Angeles (adjacent to Santa Monica)
when shipping military care packages.
