I heard on the radio this morning, that a pilot of a passenger jet departing LAX claimed to have narrowly avoided being hit by a missile. It was reported that the jet was about 6,000 feet in altitude & over the ocean when the event occurred. The news report further stated that authorities believe it was possibly a flare or a "bottle rocket."
I googled but found nothing. Anyone else have some info on this? I dont recall whether it was CBS or NBC radio news.
LOL! You got him nailed down exactly!
Actually, what I heard on the radio newsbroadcast was that the passenger jet had reached 6,000 feet in altitude.
Whether that report was accurate or not - who can say?
Let me add, there are some things that were stated in that early morning newsbroadcast that stuck with me.
1. 6,000 feet in altitude
2. FBI says it may have been a flare or bottle rocket
3. It happened after departing LAX & while over water - the destination was somewhere in the eastern US
4. The pilot claimed he narrowly missed the missile
There may have been other details mentioned in the broadcast, but I dont recall them - such as the airline & destination.
Did not see this posted yet.
From the LGF website:
UPDATE at 12/2/05 1:09:18 pm:
From Bill Quick:
I just talked with an FBI spokesman from the Los Angeles bureau who told me that the sighting was of a contrail. The spokesman added that all investigative leads were vetted and the results were negative. The investigation is now closed.

I guess this means there is nothing to worry about, right?
There's nothing we can worry about - never was, in fact. When you get down to the brass tacks, we cant live our lives that way. Whether anything ever develops from this event is doubtful - but at least we all know about it. If & when something does happen, we will remember. BTW - thanks for posting the update from LGF. It's interesting.
yes, except for the radar and radio data was purged.
Thanks, BurbankKarl! Ping to BurbankKarl post #645!
Thanks Kyla!

I listened to the interview you supplied...I wasnt expecting any sort of new revelation, so I wasnt disappointed.
However, your recording ended at the commercial break - was there anything more afterwards that might be of interest?
I should not have posted that this was "new Information"...what was new is that the media was picking this up.
Apologies to all...I know how damn frustrating it is to navigate through the clutter.
I don't know why they just don't release a statement by their pilot. You know, just to clear things up.
I didn't read all 645 some odd posts, so if this link has already been posted, please excuse me. They mention FR too, just scroll down the page.

Nothing to see here, move along please...........
Police stop truck carrying missile launchers on Toronto-area highway.
Intelligence Summit 2006 TORONTO - The army is looking into a bizarre incident in which a tractor-trailer loaded with anti-aircraft missile launchers was seen rolling down a major Ontario highway.
Hopefully, there is no truth to this. But in a country where anyone that gets a whim can enter, nothing surprises me.
there was a half hour of callers...which, really didnt add to this story...
was this video confiscated? was it ever broadcast on a network? too bad if not, because it will never be seen again.
what network was steph. on when he said this? Surely there is a video of this comment somewhere...brent bozell's organization I would think has one if not others...
very interesting! thanks for the ping.
No problem
I expect at some point that Art Bell will have General George Jameson chime in on all this. ;-)
a good anatomy of this can be found in the oklahoma university 'suicide' thread on FR. initial reports simply state the obvious (i.e. missile, suicide bombing attempt, etc), then the officials backtrack on statements, events un-occur, and it disappears completely from the radar.
