WASHINGTON (AP) -- The time has come for a "cheesehead" in the White House, although Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wis., doesn't know if he's the one to take that mantle.
He put his chances of seeking for the nomination in 2008 at "probably higher" than one in 100 while saying it was too early to commit to the race.
"But I do think one thing we can all agree on is that this country is overdue for a cheesehead president. We've never had one," he told ABC's "This Week."
A cheesehead is a native or resident of Wisconsin, a leading dairy state. The term also refers to the yellow "cheese" wedges worn on the heads of Green Bay Packers football fans.
Feingold is mentioned as a possible candidate because of his anti-war views. He is among the Democrats in recent months who have visited New Hampshire, the site of the first presidential primary.

I was thinking Oberweis, but that's Illinois.
Hey Russ...we might be but no commies need apply.
Well, Sen Russ Girlyboy, allready
*smells* like fetid cheese...
Yeah, America needs a liberal moron from wisconsin about as much as it needs a carpetbagging whore from Illinois.
I don't think the boring, twice-divorced twerp is going far.
From OpinionJournal.com:If he succeeds in squelching MY free speech, he'll be remembered for much more than CFR/McCain shenanigans.
We'd like to say we're surprised, but this was always going to be the end result of a law that naively believed it could ban money from politics. Since 2003, when the Supreme Court upheld it, McCain-Feingold has failed spectacularly in its stated goal of reining in fat-cat donors. Yet its uncompromising language has helped to gag practically every other politically active entity--from advocacy groups to labor unions. Now the FEC is being asked to censor another segment of society, the millions of individuals who engage in political activity online.
America needs a liberal cheesehead about as much as we needed a liberal peanuthead from Georgia. Don't they ever learn?
Not to worry. Russell has 0.0001% chance of getting the Dems nomination. He has -XX chance of becoming President. Like most Senators, he is on a delusional power trip.
Wow ... what a great list qualifications he has to run a country of 280 million people ... / heavy sarcasm >
I can name a few cheeseheads that were already prez.
Bill Clinton already had his chance.
Oh wait, that would be "cheesed**k".
We had a grifter for President, I guess we have a rotating disaster for President plan from the dems.
Just make sure the cheesehead doesn't have a cheesebrain. (Is that possible?)
But unfortunately Joseph McCarthy isn't available. Neither is Douglas McArthur.
Hey Russ, the good people of Wisconsin wouldn't ellect you on a bet. ( Most of us don't consider Madison or Milwaukee to be in Wisconsin)
We still haven't recovered from Jimmuh Carter, although I think his head was made from something less appetizing than cheese.
