Former Dallas Cowboys receiver Michael Irvin was charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia after police searched his vehicle during a traffic stop, Plano police said Sunday.
Irvin, an ESPN analyst and semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for speeding in Irving after being pulled over Friday afternoon for speeding in Plano, the Plano Police Department said. Police spokesman Mike Johnson said he didn't know what kind of paraphernalia was found.
Irvin paid a fine on the speeding ticket and posted bond on the drug paraphernalia possession charge. He was released about an hour after he was pulled over.
"We are reviewing the facts of the situation and have no comment at this time," ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz said.

What an idiot! With his history and the gangsta NFL/NBA he still is on drugs?? What a poor example for kids. What a waste of talent.

ESPN just said that he would be back on camera for them tomorrow night.
If he's innocent, why not simply take a drug test and prove that he's clean?
Must see how this latest episode pans out since one's innocent until proven guilty. If the stuff wasn't his - then maybe its one of his old "White House" buds?
I live in Plano and have seen Irvin a couple times - he use to drive a black MB with license tags along the line of "PLYMKR" (maybe still does).

Heard that Henderson sought the advice of Roger Stauback on how to invest the windfall... R.S. advised Henderson to invest in AAA-rated munis I believe.
Stauback is a class act - he has been in commercial real estate for many years - Emmitt Smith has recently started working in real estate and has teamed up with Stauback.
Are you saying that his wife and extended family would not be harmed by Irvin doing a little Mary Jane or a line of blow?
Well, the combination of the earlier cocaine bust, the fight in the Cowboys preseason camp that got hushed up, the two speeding tickets and possession of paraphenalia charge may indicate that this is a guy who just doesn't like to follow the rules.
Don Perkins was one of my favorites, along with Cornell Green and Jethro Pugh. I was glad to see Lance Alworth finally get a ring with the Cowboys, also. Ditka got his only ring as a player with them. Even though Bob Hayes had drug problems later, I'm glad he lived to see himself in the Ring of Honor in Texas Stadium.
Too Tall Jones, Robert Newhouse....etc. Those were the "real" Cowboys. When Jones took over, I ceased being a fan.

Well Grandpa Henry (Hank the Deuce) would have never allowed the company to sink into the toilet like the punk that sits at the top of it now has done. Hank the Deuce would have fired some of that overpriced talent such as JJ Padilla who is irresponsible for overall corporate quality, and J Mays whose last great design was the current Volkswagen Beetle. If Marriucci or Swillen had any guts they'd have fired Charles Rogers weeks ago.
I agree. But when you get caught, you gotta pay the piper. Otherwise a small problem (speeding ticket) turns into a bigger problem (arrest and search) and maybe a huge problem (fired from ESPN gig). Michael, pay your damn tickets before they're due and avoid that "failure to appear" warrant and everything will be cool. Jeez....that isn't too tough to figure out, is it. Well apparently it is. LOL

I was very pleased to hear Michael Irvin became a Christian and turned his life around. I don't care if you are a Christian or not, drug addiction does not just go away. You have to setup defense mechanisms up in your life and carrying your friends drug paraphenalia in your car is not a way to do it.
I hope he is telling the truth but it sounds like a lie to me. If Irvin did lie, as a Christian he needs to confess his sin and understand these demons do come back to tempt you again.
One thing that I have also noticed as a Christian in my own life is that you cannot conceal your sin from God. In my own life when I have not repented from a sin my sin has always been found out.
If Michael does have a drug problem he needs to get some help.

No, I don't know him...although he appears to be a pretty reasonable guy..from just watching interviews, etc....But that's T.V....So you are correct. I do not know him. But I think he's an idiot in his actions.
