Caught the last half of Russert and his bash Bush festival today. What an insult that program has become.

To reason, to patritoism, to human decency, to pretty much all that makes humans tolerable.

Do you really think the left will understand the words you used? You forget, they hear but they don't listen.

Hollywood Conservative takes on the liberal media

ANGERED by negative portrayals of the conflict in Iraq, Bruce Willis, the Hollywood star, is to make a pro-war film in which American soldiers will be depicted as brave fighters for freedom and democracy.

It will be based on the exploits of the heavily decorated members of Deuce Four, the 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry, which has spent the past year battling insurgents in the northern Iraqi town of Mosul. ...

He is expected to base the film on the writings of the independent blogger Michael Yon, a former special forces green beret who was embedded with Deuce Four and sent regular dispatches about their heroics.

Yon was at the soldiers’ ball with Willis, who got to know him through his internet war reports on www.michaelyon.blogspot.com. “What he is doing is something the American media and maybe the world media isn’t doing,” the actor said, “and that’s telling the truth about what’s happening in the war in Iraq.”

Willis is likely to take on the role of the unit’s commander, Lieutenant-Colonel Erik Kurilla, 39, a Bruce Willis lookalike with a chest full of medals, more hair than Willis and a glamorous blonde wife.

The incident with the door was at the Great Hall in China not Mongolia. As usual he handled it with great aplomb.

My pleasure, it took a while putting the thread together but it was well worth it - a wonderful visit. One of the most colourful and a genuine warm welcome to the President.

Since I have been posting this thread, it has been apparent to me that Russert was and is biased. This has been my view for years.

Nothing has changed. He's always been a DNC talking points spouting, communist card carrying, Republican/Conservative hating Spin Meister of the top echelon.

It has always amazed me to ever hear a conservative state that Russert was/is "fair".

Just watch his body language! This is the key to understanding Russert. When he interviews a Republican, his face gets all scrunched up, his brow knits, he hunches over, holding his talking points firmly in both hands, and uses very accusatory language. Then when his democratic pals come on, he leans back slightly, hold his body open and loose, and smiles often.

Personally, I can't stand the guy because of this. Among all the Sunday hosts, his non-verbals show the most bias by far.

This is off-topic but finally I have a forum to ask my most probing question. Mark Steynwrote this article about the state of movies today. As with everything Steyn writes, he's right on the money. The synopsis is that Hollywood is now so politically correct it doesn't write and present anything of value. Because why wouldn't some writer pen a gripping story about the many, many dramas going on in Iraq? As fiction, of course. Instead, in Steyn's fine example, they have a terrorist AIRPLANE, of all things.

So finally, here's the question.

Why do the pubbies, conservatives, et al, constantly complain about such as West Wing and Commander-in-Chief to be so overtly liberal, but do nothing about it?

Last I looked there's still freedom of speech in this country and there are no laws that Conservatives can't make movies and TV shows. If there's such a dearth of "right always wins" type of shows then why don't the pubs and such get off their wing tips and find some writers to write TV shows such as West Wing from a Conservative point of view? Myself is convinced such shows will be winners. Myself also thinks she her fine scribe self could pen just such a show now that I think about it.

Anyway, yes Mel Gibson's movie about Christ was a start to that end. But that subject was a little too far out. For now, I submit. Why not such a simple as a Conservative West Wing for starters? Peggy Noonan could help.

It's not for lack of money I say. What I suspect is the pubbie types never envision themselves as part of any creative community.

Yet to a man we all agree that pop culture can shape a generation. So why have we let the liberals control it for so long? This issue needs to be seriously considered.

That pic is hilarious! This prez has enough confidence to laugh at himself and absurd situations......I'm searching for a time that Clinton ever made fun of himself or a situation he found himself caught up in.....

I agree with you Alas, Tim has always been biased...but he is just showing it more these days. Not sure what got into him. After his performance two weeks ago when he took Colin Powell's statement completely out of context, I called NBC, got through to Tim's voice mail, and left him a scathing message. There was a time when he was respected, but that is long gone. Rush now refers to him as Dim Russert -- and deservedly so. Old meda has become the enemy within...they are truly despicable.

>>>>Four historians are the guests, and each is doing his best to describe our nation in terms that make the President look terrible without using one sentence that charges him with a single tangible fact.

Remember, for those on the left, its not the nature of the evidence which counts most, its the seriousness of the charge. And this mornings MTP was another all out effort by Timmy Russert's merry band of doom and gloom journalists to paint a picture of a failed Presidency and a lost war in Iraq.

Also, John Warner needs to retire. Outside of his closing jab at Biden's presidential trial balloon, Warner's performance on MTP today was an embarassment. Where were the voices of reason from the Bush administration? Nowhere to be heard. While the President is doing a remarkable job prosecuting the WOT in Iraq, Bush&Company are still doing a lousy job of confronting their enemies here at home. What are they waiting for? Bush has the Bully Pulpit, don't let up!

Russert has never been fair or balanced in his interviews or with guests.

What continues to intrigue me is how Rush and Hannity, and others, will pander to Russert and defend him. They will say something about "liking" Russert and I keep having this image of a snake watching a mouse in front if it.

That is good news. I think Rush was on the fence over Russert, but his bias is so blatant that one could not honestly remain there.

Agreed 100%. Brit Hume & Russert both are Washington Mg.Editors of their channels - meaning all things political. See how Brit gives expose to all points of view & how Russert exerts pressure on every political view expressed on his channels NBC & MSNBC.

It 's a shame, since his mentor Monyhan in his last days expressed great admiration & appreciation for Bush. Their respect was mutual & Bush appointed him for Soc.Sec.Commission. Some people make boss proud. I am sure how Monyhan would feel about Russert.
