A Quebec teenager with a peanut allergy has died after kissing her boyfriend who had eaten a peanut butter sandwich hours earlier.

My mother was allergic to penicillin...but both me and my brother always tolerated it, as children and as young teens...but when I was about 19, the doc gave me shot of penicillin for an infection in my finger...I left the office, paid my bill, went outside, felt ill, went back inside, and the next thing I knew I was on the floor, surrounded by the other patients...a man said, I came back in, look white as a ghost, and then I promptly passed out and he caught me on my way down to crashing on the floor..
From that day on, I never received any penicillin...my younger son, showed an allergy to penicillin when he was about 2 yrs old...he was also allergic to cows milk(thankfully he was breastfed, and the cows milk allergy showed up when I was giving him store bought milk in a cup)...he also had a mild reaction(a rash) to chlorine..
Today he is 31, and no longer allergic to cows milk or chlorine...but he has never had another shot of penicillin..
I have been stung 2 times by a bee...the first time, I did not have trouble breathing, but the site where the bee got me, swelled up much more than it should have...eventually it went down, and I never thought any more about it...however the second time I got stung, I began having a hard time breathing, and again, the site swelled up way more than it should have...a neighbor was about to take me to the hospital, when my breathing returned to normal...
Then I finally realized I must be allergic to bees....so now I have a little medical case, filled with an injector for my thigh, and a few benadryl tablets...
So one can develop these allergies as they age, and by the same token(as with my son), one can also become non-allergic to things they were formerly allergic to...
And he'll brush his teeth more often.
< PEOPLE OVER 30 SHOULD BE DEAD
According to today's regulators and bureaucrats, those of us who were kids
in the 40's, 50's, 60's, or even maybe the early 70's probably shouldn't
have survived.
Our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paint.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets, and when
we rode our bikes, we had no helmets. (Not to mention the risks we took
hitchhiking.)
As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags.
Riding in the back of a pickup truck on a warm day was always a special
treat.
We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle.
We ate cupcakes, bread and butter, and drank soda pop with sugar in it, but
we were never overweight because we were always outside playing.
We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle, and no one
actually died from this.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then rode down
the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the
bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were
back when the street lights came on. No one was able to reach us all day.
No cell phones. Unthinkable!
We did not have Playstations, Nintendo 64, X-Boxes, no video games at all,
no 99 channels on cable, video tape movies, surround sound, personal cell
phones, personal computers, or Internet chat rooms. We had friends! We
went outside and found them.
We played dodge ball, and sometimes, the ball would really hurt. We fell
out of trees, got cut and broke bones and teeth, and there were no lawsuits
from these accidents. They were accidents. No one was to blame but us.
Remember accidents?
We had fights and punched ! each other and got black and blue and learned to
get over it. We made up games with sticks and tennis balls and ate worms, (or
caterpillers) and although we were told it would happen, we did not
but out very many eyes, nor did the worms live inside us forever.
We rode bikes or walked to a friend's home and knocked on the door, or rang
the bell or just walked in and talked to them.
Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't
had to learn to deal with disappointment.
Some students weren't as smart as others, so they failed a grade and were
held back to repeat the same grade. Tests were not adjusted for any
reason. Our actions were our own. Consequences were expected.
The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke a law was unheard of. They
actually sided with the law. Imagine that! This generation has produced
some of the best risk-takers and problem solvers and inventors, ever.
The past 50 years have been! an explosion of innovation and new ideas. We
had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to
deal with it all. And you're one of them!
Congratulations!
Please pass this on to others who have had the luck to grow up as kids,
before lawyers and government regulated our lives, for our own good.
Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?
www.foodallergy.org, sorry.
Five, six, seven-year-old people are not "normal people."
Better the child learn to protect itself, rather that have the government try to protect the child from a flawed immune system via legislation. If the child needs to be protected in school then a seperate lunch area could certainly be provided. However, the restrictions on a common nut used in a myriad of products is preposterous.
What if another child brings some other non-banned nuts (not peanuts) which are roasted in PEANUT OIL? The peanut and its associated by-products are EVERYWHERE. It is a safe food product for a supermajority of the population. The genetic flaws of a few should not dicated the conduct of the many.
At what age will the government protection cease? What's next, some child with an allergic reaction to cow's milk, so then all must be deprived to satisfy the one...
dvwjr
What an awful thing for him to live with.
Whoa! A jar a day!

Perhaps it is just a matter of time before there is a study that suggests/proves the links that have been verififed by the testimony of thousands of families.
THere is something out there called the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program or something to that effect that compensates families of children injured or killed by vaccines. So children obviously are being killed and injured by vaccines.
"AUTISM AND VACCINATION: NATIONAL PRESS CONFERENCE AND CONGRESSIONAL HEARING April 6, 2000, features doctors and parents at an NVIC press conference on Capitol Hill and the day long Congressional hearing that followed in the Government Reform Committee."
from www.nivc.org (National Vaccine Information Center).
https://www.nvic.org/Diseases/autismsp.htm
The above is a link to an article discussing the link between vaccines and autism.
an excerpt:
"In 1999, as states revealed skyrocketing rates of autism spectrum disorder among children and a congressional hearing was held in the U.S. Congress, the media began to explore the medical controversy in print and broadcast reports. At the heart of the debate stand a few courageous physicians whose independent, multi-disciplinary approach to investigating the possible biological mechanisms of vaccine-induced autism is serving as a counterweight to the steadfast denials by infectious disease specialists and government health officials defending current mass vaccination policies. As scientific evidence reveals that a portion of autism lies on the vaccine injury spectrum, parents determined to find help for their children are turning to doctors exploring diet and immune modulating therapies."
Autism is just one of purported damaging effects of vaccination. The NVIC website is loaded with information about injuries and deaths related to vaccines. It discusses mental retardation, immune disorders (such as allergies to substances), ADHD, brain swelling.
from the site:
"In their book, Coulter and Fisher described numerous case reports in more than 50 years of medical literature and in new case studies they presented of children, who had been developing normally (and in many cases were of above average intelligence), and then received a DPT shot (often simultaneously with live oral polio vaccine) who then exhibited symptoms of brain inflammation, including high fever, extreme drowsiness, vomiting, high pitched screaming, seizures, and alterations of consciousness. Many of these children were subsequently diagnosed as mentally retarded, epileptic, learning disabled, hyperactive, or autistic.
In a good number of cases, the children who had reacted neurologically to DPT were allergic, particularly to milk, or had been vaccinated while they were sick with a coinciding viral or bacterial infection. In addition to neurological damage, many were also left with chronic gastrointestinal dysfunction and severe allergies, as well as autoimmune disorders such as asthma. The personal or family history of autoimmune disorders appeared to outweigh a history of neurological disorders in terms of being a high risk factor for reacting to DPT, although a history of convulsions in the family was also a high risk factor."
Interesting reading.
It *is* just slippery slope nonsense.
Any school which refuses to allow a competent child to carry life-saving medication on its person at all times should be held criminally liable to the individual responsible for both policy and enforcement.
Can someone sue Jimmy Carter (former Peanut Farmer) over this?
I am sure they will not go after Jimbo, but I am sure some bottomfeeders have already contacted the family.
But it wasn't the peanut butter in chili that killed him, it was a bee sting.
You notice that this "peanut allergy" phenomenon has only appeared in the last thirty years. It's Gods punishment for our electing Jimmy Carter.
If you think that the health industry tries to whitewash this kind of material, back in the 80s it was determined that the oral polio vaccine (Sabin), on rare occasions could give a case of actual polio to an adult if cetain circumstances were met and they were exposed to a child who just received it. It was studied after case reports and found true. They stopped the Sabin and went back to the killed vaccine (Salk).
Another thing: one reason for the "skyrocketing" numbers of autism cases is unquestionably the re-definition and significant broadening of the disorder. Twenty years ago autism was defined narrowly, but now developmental disorders that would NEVER have been called autistic then are called that now.
And, although there are mostly minor risks to immunizations, there are much greater risks to NOT immunizing. Click here, for example or here
Oh yeah! You're right! Thanks for refreshing my memory - I had forgotten that.
My sympathies to everyone but if her sensitivity was that great, she belonged in a bubble. How sad
