Operation Digital Camera: Taking the photos of our troops that the Media won't take.

I have an idea- why not send some digital cameras over to our guys and gals in Iraq and ask them to send back some photos for us. I will compile a list of people with servers, who will post the photos here at FR- perhaps we could use this thread for a meeting place. My hope is that blogs and friendly media can pick up the photos and spread them around a bit. What we need are:

1)People and organizations who are willing to donate cameras and get them to our troops. 2)Names of people who can receive the cameras over there and who will email the shots back to us. 3) Contacts to get the word out to people who already have digital cameras that we will post them on FR for the world to see. 4)People to bump this thread and pass the idea around.

Screw the media- lets just do the job ourselves.

We are looking for some troops on the ground in Iraq to receive digital/disposable cameras from us and get positive photos back for us to post on FR. Can you help us? We are sick of the media ignoring the good work our troops are doing. Thanks.

Kind of a well-intentioned, but bad idea. Cameras that are lost or stolen in the field could provide intelligence to the enemy. The military would have to review each and every picture that came out, etc. etc. etc.

Thanks Lori! These sites are great- but my point is to add to the traffic and coverage they may get and add to the photo library. Some of you can go over to those sites when you find them- and get the photos and start spreading them around the internet to different sites you go to- including here. If anyone finds these photos bring them back and post them on this thread.. the finest threads, or the Canteen threads (you will find link to the daily threads on FR homepage) The point is to get these photos more coverage and to help our troops. They all say the media is NOT covering the good things and they are frustrated. SO lets get a couple of cameras over there for them to use... we can post them here, put a tribute together and send it by email- there are 100 things to do... a link to a website is not as powerful as this:

Oh another thing Lori- when you find these sites and see these photos - if you don't have server space- then freep mail me, calperina or JLO, starcmc and we will help you get URL or server space so you can pass them around by email, freep mail or so you can post them on threads around here- see what I mean?Then we can cheer some other people up with the same photos.
