NYC is the closet thing to Paris America has. Boston and SF are runner ups.
Every Saturday, the N.Y. Post has a real estate supplement. It's amazing reading; to say the least. They showcase various sections, give prices for what things have sold for, have a separate place for listings, trends, and lots of pictures. You just wouldn't believe what's going on! :-)
Even the mayors a thug. He days "If you don't like it. Get the Hell out."
Things are going to get dark and soon if they don't clean up city hall.
Chicago and Boston are very similar cities. If you have seen Chicago lately, you should. I'd place Chicago closer to Paris, than Manhattan.
What does a rehabed 1200 square foot flat in black Harlem go for these days?
Shocking that anyone would knock my hometown of Detroit. Kwame is going to spruce the place up for the Superbowl with vinyl 'building wraps' on the abandoned dowtown structures. They're coming back!
Recently, in the last five years or so the entire state of NC has undergone a huge influx of Spanish speaking illegals. The crime reports in the Charlotte paper are frequently filled with Hispanic names.
This is added to the indigenous population that has its own high crime level and the situation has gone from bad to worse.
The police chief needs an additional 90 officers and the county/city boards d/n seem to want to fund them.
The rent depends on various things...but it isn't what one might call "cheap".
I see New Orleans has dropped off.
Chicago is too, too slow, and provinicial, as compared to NYC. But putting aside the weather, Chicago is my favorite city in America. I lived there for 5 years for college and business school. It is a very livable city.
Yikes. That is about twice the price in LA, in a not black neighborhood.
I lived there for about 17 years and my daughter and s-i-l live there now.
You wouldn't recognize it now!
Amazing.
¿San Jose? ¿El Paso? ¿New York? ¿Austin? ¿San Diego? ¿San Antonio?
NO did not have 500,000 residents before Katrina, and will certainly not have that many in the forseeable future.
My thoughts exactly... Something is not right here!
Hampstead is FABULOUS! There really isn't anything in N.Y.C. to compare to it.
Chicago is much more like Paris...now.
How many years have you not seen Chicago?
It sure is. Mind blowing too. :-)
