GOP Pulls Fast One... Tells Dems: Pull Troops Now? Okay, then let's vote!!!!! Tonight. 7 p.m. in House... Ultimate showdown...
I just got in....
This is so cool!
Thank you..... I don't have a TV close by to watch/listen
Basically- the GOP called the donkey's on their anti-war, Bush lied, leave Iraq now rhetoric...and called for a vote for support of the war...taking place tonight.
Ever watched the Senate in action? From the Gallery? The mob work takes place behind the doors.....but, it's interesting to watch people running (well, sauntering) in and out whilst they try to figure out who's voting what, and how they can maneuver whatever!
My prayers for W and our troops as well.
Chriisy Matthews is showing Murtha's interview again - how lame
You should have seen the one on man stomping elephants.
I take it this a resolution to pull troops out of Iraq. So if the 'no' vote wins, I would think the question dies here in the House.
Somebody will fill us in. They are going to have debate and then the vote so if we don't have anything else to do tonight, we should be able to decipher it from the cspan telecast.
I heard Charley Rangel turn down an appearance on Hannity & Colmes today, because he wanted to catch the last flight out at 9:00. Looks like he'll be missing it.
I thought the vote was for 7pm...

John Murtha Urged Iraq Pullout Last Year

The press is pretending that Rep. John Murtha had been a longtime, staunch supporter of the Iraq war right up until yesterday's "shocking reversal," when the Pennsylvania Democrat abruptly called for an immediate U.S. pull out.
In fact, Murtha began advocating a cut-and-run strategy way back in May 2004 - after U.S. forces had been in Iraq just a little more than a year.
Standing at the time next to San Francisco-based House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi - who was last seen defending her city's decision to ban military recruiters from public school property - the allegedly pro-war Murtha proclaimed that the Iraq war was "unwinnable."
"We have to either mobilize or get out [and] I don't know that we have the will to mobilize," he declared 18 months ago.
Peacenik Pelosi was delighted at the time - showing off her new catch as if Murtha was a prize-winning poodle.
"He is one of the most recognized experts on defense in the country," she boasted. "And no one has worked harder to meet the needs of our troops."
Of course, one of the troops' most compelling needs is support of their mission on the home front.
And Murtha very publicly yanked his support a long time ago.
I was way to busy to keep up today; but looks like Hasert and the Pubs are going to play some hardball
Dull old man. His 15 minutes are long over.
Ditto here. Military families are freaking out, I can tell you that. I can only hope the House Republicans have been getting the phone calls and getting the message. They'd better not back out tonight. But I'm not terribly hopeful.
Or not. Either way it isn't good for them.
They are going to debate the vote they just took?
God, youmust have to take a shower after watching sissy matthews....I couldnt do it.
