As for that baby that will never be, I will remember him always. But I'm quite certain that I made the right choice for the three of us.

I guess the baby that will never be didn't get a chance to disgree with dear old mom about whether she made the right choice. She knew the pregnancy was going to be high risk. Her and dipwad boyfriend should have used birth control given their ages. Morons. Absolute friggin' morons.

"The truth was, until I heard the word "abortion,'' it hadn't occurred to me that I was actually having one. "

Hey, don't give it a second thought. TOo bad someone dared to mention the word and wake up up, just alittle.

Sarcasm off.

Looks like she has alittle shame ... trying to think of what lie to tell people ... .

"When I walked into the hospital, no one knew why, or cared. The nurses were kind and the doctor held my hand as the anesthesia took over."

How nice of the medical profession to be so cold. I suppose this is the result of situaiton ethics - how nice. Sarcasm off.

One of the most self-indulgent attempts at denial that I've read since that Anna Quindlan column in the NYT that described each of her three abortions.

Meanwhile, the 52 year-old ex-hippie father breathes a big sigh of relief.

For these people it is all about them. They can choose to bring a child into the world but they can't get married first and provide a stable home first... Nor can they deal with any other inconvenience... Got to terminate any inconveniences...

I can't stand how these women think if they talk about how difficult their decision was or that they'll "mourn the child that would never be" that somehow it makes everything alright, even noble. Sorta like the Menedez brothers killing their parents and then being sad about being orphans.

I feel sorry for her. Even though she believes that she made the right choice, she will never be the same emotionally.

If abortion is legal, there should be a time limit set on it.
I suggest 18 or 21.
Just think how convenient it would be for woman to tell her child "If you don't clean your room, I will abort you".

Reminds me of an old article:

In the Wall Street Journal there was an op-ed piece entitled “Ordinary Abortions.”

This is an example of the perfect story the pro-choice crowd would want to run now that Alito will be facing the panel soon. I can't wait for the inevitable question now - What if it was you in this situation? Is it right to force these happy people to a life of suffering and financial ruin because of your beliefs? blah, blah, blah...
Funny how she likes the anonymity when she goes in to kill her son, and talks about how her mother protects her by telling her sister-in-law she "lost" the baby then she goes and profits from it by selling it to the paper that millions of people read, so proud of her decision like it was the hard way out instead of the chicken-sh*t way it truly is.

One moral to this story is, nature intended for humans to have children at a much younger age than these folks. Raising children takes more energy than people in their 50's and 60's can muster.

Ah...the liberal attitude to those with handicaps on full display. It reared its ugly head during the Terri disaster Jessi Jackson notwithstanding as well.

"Mike and I weren't married, and had decided to wait before taking that step."

Wait for what? Retirement? She's 42 and he's 52. Just how long are they planning on waiting? If they're not ready by now, they're never going to be.

When I hung up, I told Mike, "It's Down syndrome''

OK, that's enough for me.

Now let's put our thinking caps on, Leftists. If it's better to kill a baby than to let it live with Down's Syndrome, what should we do about those people currently living with Down's Syndrome? Wouldn't they be better off dead too?

In fact, I'm sure that's what you believe. You just don't have the guts to pull the trigger. At least not yet. Thank God.

Don't they know that the term abortion has been replaced with better terms like "choice" and "family-planning"?

How inconsiderate of the friend to use such a comnemning word like "abortion".

/sarcasm

Actually, I'm glad that it got under the pregnant woman's skin. Hopefully she'll go the right way by repenting and asking Jesus into her heart.

This truly makes me sad as I know one couple at church who knew they were going to have a baby with Down's, and, although it's been difficult for them, have done a wonderful job in raising the little boy.

As a woman myself, I just can't imagine the thought process you would have to go through to convince yourself it's okay to kill your baby. My husband and I don't want to have children at this point in our lives, but if I did get pregnant, there is no way I would not have the baby - even if he or she does have Down's or some other kind of "defect." I'm seriously really upset by this article, and I can't help but feel pity for this woman, as she will never stop thinking about the baby she killed.
