San Francisco Supervisor Wants Bill O'Reilly Fired
Newsmax ^ | Nov 15th, 2005

Once you've disarmed honest citizens and evicted the military, what do you do for an encore?

Well, one San Francisco supervisor thinks you try going after the host of the #1 cable show in America.

Three days after the election, San Francisco Supervisor Chris Daly told a CBS television affiliate that he planned on introducing a resolution demanding that Fox News executives fire Bill O'Reilly.

What had O'Reilly done to put the supervisor in such a snit? He expressed his outrage at the city's proposition to ban public schools from allowing military recruiters from public school campuses.

On his radio show, O'Reilly suggested that San Francisco should not get any federal funds. "If al-Qaida comes in here and blows you up, we're not going to do anything about it," said O'Reilly.

"We're going to say [to the terrorists], 'Look, every other place in America is off-limits to you, except San Francisco. You want to blow up the Coit Tower, go ahead,'" said "The Factor" host.

"I was outraged," Daly huffed. "To green-light terrorist attacks and violence shows a lot of hate, not a lot of humanity. It's un-American."

The 210-foot Coit Tower O'Reilly referred to was built with funds left to the city by philanthropist Lillie Hitchcock Coit.

Because of Coit's admiration for the firefighters who had fought the 1906 earthquake blazes, many believe the tower was designed in the shape of a fire hose nozzle, although other theories abound as to what the tower represents.

Daly claims that San Francisco firefighters are fuming over O'Reilly's remarks. "To choose that target, given the context of bravery of firefighters on September 11, is a doubly harsh message from Bill O'Reilly," Daly said.

Daly was the prime sponsor of the San Francisco anti-gun initiative and appeared earlier in November at a rally with Cindy Sheehan to protest the Bush administration.

If Daly was under the impression that O'Reilly was going to take the comments sitting down, he was sorely mistaken.

"I'm from New York," O'Reilly said on his radio show. "There are dozens of people in my neighborhood on Long Island who are dead because of 9/11, and you people are telling me you're not going to allow military recruiting out there? Hey, it's serious, and I think you guys need a wake-up call."

The Left Coast Report believes Daly has as much chance of getting O'Reilly fired as Pat Robertson has of getting elected mayor of San Francisco.

If B-O-Really keeps this up I just might start to think about elevating him from a zero to a one on my 1-10 scale of people who matter to me.

He owes the Swiftees an apology first!

The Bloviator really railed against SF last night on cable. He said (paraphrase) if he were presindent he'd pull all federal funds to "protect" SF from terrorists among other funding.

Makes too much sense, it had to leave a mark.

That's already in the red zone, that shot is taken in San Francisco. That's Treasure Island in the distance and the car is headed down the Fremont Street offramp.

Never mind that the San Francisco Supervisors have not been granted authority by the American people, the US constitution , or the California constitution to do this. Here is an example of the complete disregard some elected officials have for their office and the laws they are supposed to uphold.

The idea he should be fired is ridiculous. But I also think O'Reilly's comments are really stupid.

O'Reilly is a buffoon... but if he pulls in an audience, Foz ain't gonna fire him. But really - a monument to fire fighters? Why not one of the bondage palaces?

For crying out loud. First of all, this 'person' cannot be so stupid as to believe that O'reilly was serious.

Second, libs have said the meanest, nastiest things about conservatives, the military, Christians, et al. Things like "I hope he eats lots of bacon and dies from heart disease". They can write books about how to kill President Bush. They can side with terrorists and wish the worst for our military. All under the guise of free speech.

But, heaven forbid that someone says something nasty back at them. Oh my, forget freedom of speech. Forget the fact that people can just turn O'reilly off. No, you mock the left and they go berzerk!!!!

To be completely honest, I hope that Bush and Cheney turn their 'machines' on and create a tsunami that will only inundate the liberal parts of Kalifornia. Uh oh, I pulled an O'reilly. Next thing you know, they will be demanding that FR ban Technomage.

Too bad that the rest of America only see the bull dikes and trans-testicles that infest your city.
