I did a lot of business at BIAP gate 1, but never drove down Irish.

Once again, I'll point out the obvious: You care only about"regime change" in the middle east. Which tells me that you don't really care about people being under tyranny, because most of the enslaved in this world are in places other than the middle east.
If that was the case, the House of Reps would show leadership. The Senate RINO's have a long history of cowering and pandering to the media. There is a group of Senators on the Republican side that are cowardly bedwetters, but that does not mean that they are doing the will of the people, they are doing the will of the 10:00 News.
That whole region needs an enema, and Iraq was the best place to stick the nozzle.

Oh yes, as to why we pay for this war. Because if Islam is left to its own devices then it will be a) certain that the US will experience nuclear terrorism at immense cost, and b) unlike the situation today, if we wait we will have nuclear Islamic regimes to deal with. Muslims, unlike Communists, place no value on their own lives, and thus cannot be deterred by the prospect of themselves being destroyed. The price of doing nothing is far higher than the cost we are paying now, so it is the responsible thing to do to take out the garbage before we're buried in it.
yeah, well many parts of Los Angeles and Detroit and DC aren't "secure" either - try driving down some streets at night, you might wish you were headed for the Baghdad airport.
the unfortunate thing here is that Bush went too long allowing the media to define the "war" as the daily IED attacks - a steady drumbeat of US KIA, none fo which have any military significance, but that have alot of PR effect when combined with a media that will only report a one sided story and a majority of americans who are dolts. we have already won the part of the war our forces are designed to win. this phase can only be handled by the iraqis, these kinds of attacks taking place now will be part of the long term security problem in iraq - the same way gang violence on the streets of the US will never be "defeated", just contained. how many americans are murdered each year? take a look at those stats, at New Orleans after the hurricane, at the riots in France - these "insurgencies" are everywhere.
You know, I can't tell if the GOP is trying to self-destruct or if this is calculation that this will increase popularity. Either way, I'm not sure I agree...
