If Bush would come back to Conservatism, his ratings would go up.

Yep. People don't often pay attention to politicians, but they know when their pay checks are gone!!!

Please write your republican representatives and tell them you want them to publicly and strongly counter these liars on a daily basis and show full support for the president. The president didn't do this by himself. These people voted for this and they need to rightly defend their decision. It was the right thing to do then, and it is the right thing to do now. They owe it to the president, the troops and to us. I want to see some serious smackdowns.

The fact of reality is that 50% of the people don't have an opinion one way or the other.

The percentage of people who actively follow political news is about 10% -- and almost all they know is what the news(papers) tell them, which is likely to be highly prejudicial.

So really, what the polls are doing is trying to determine how many people buy what the news organizations are trying to sell them.

They're forcing uninformed people to give opinions so they can be manipulated by whomever wants to.

All polls are flawed -- just as all multiple choice questions have to bias the answer. A good test-taker recognizes the answer can be found in the question. And the "answer" is what the test-designer thinks is the right answer.

The vaguer the question, the more uncertain the answer.

"Do I approve...?" is not a question an intelligent person goes around asking -- or answering. So the poll eliminates all intelligent people until the most manipulable are determined -- and produce poll results that mean nothing but what the poll-payer wants to say.

That is the current fad mass media regards as their Holy Grail. In another month or year, it will be some other gimmick. Maybe free cars if you subscribe to their newspapers.

The smarter polling organizations don't even bother to conduct the poll; they just collect the money and tell their clients what they want to hear.

Rasmussen's latest poll does not reflect the impact of Bush's Veteran's Day speech. Rasmussen polls for three days to reach each day's numbers. Check early next week for the specific impact of the Veteran's Day speech on Bush's job approval rating.

Good to know! IMO, the GOP needs to pony up some $'s for a Bush commercial repeating some of the same points he made in the Veteran's Day speech. A few more zingers need to be added as well (to include the MSM). Afterall, he needs to get the word out to millions more who've been spoonfed lies by the MSM & the dems for months now...

Yep.

Everyone has missed our Cowboy President. He speaks and it jumps.

If the results want to be higher or longer lasting, he need to keep getting out there everyday and drive the truth home. It'll take awhile to overcome the propaganda, but we've got the Truth on our side.

Not really. The drop is from the independents if you read the polls.

People think saying "independant" makes them sound like they're open minded, but most really aren't. In my opinion, only a democrat would have to lie about their political affiliation. Republicans are proud to say "conservative."

Gee, I haven't really studied the polls. Mainly I just don't care what liberal organizations think about the Republican President. In fact, I expect them to hate him.

BTW, I am an "Independent", but only because I won't register as a member of a party that won't fight for their alleged beliefs. I still send money sometimes, when they warrant it, I still vote "R" most of the time, I am a Conservative, and most who know me think I am a Republican. But if a pollster called, I would be viewed as an "Independent", and I certainly disapprove of both Bush and Congress recently.

I'm registered as an Independent.

I'm a conservative.

The President's loss of approval has come from:

1) Conservatives

2) less ideological Folks that only get propaganda from the MSM that isn't rebutted.

Solution:

1) Rebut propaganda with the strong Truth about it and his enemies.

2) Reassert conservative policies and actions.

Each the President can easily do, each the MSM/Dems have no control over.

A valuable lesson has been learned.
Bush frees Muslims from oppression, and the Liberals and the French government don't.

bush says himself that polls don't matter to him, and when his numbers go down, his supporters agree. but when they go up, they are undeniable truth?

Because of cell phones, Internet answering services, and land line answering machines, the pollsters are becoming dinosaurs as much as the DNC and the MSM. The only people they can easily contact are those who spend all day at home and aren't able to pay for high tech services, i.e., welfare democrats.

When a poll is good for Bush, it's good for a smile. When a poll is bad, we know the democrats are pi$$ed!

Whatever, the dems live and die by polls, so I guess this is pretty bad news for them, which always makes me smile.

Polls are flawed, overused and abused.

It used to be that the mass media would go to the universities and try to get expert opinion -- or intelligent insight, but since they manipulated and misquoted those people, they refused to "cooperate" anymore. So they had to resort to these polls to give themselves some sense of authority. But it's a sham -- like everything else the mass media tries to pull now.

Just ignore them and keep their ratings plummeting. Talk to somebody intelligent instead.

This can't be. The media's been touting Bush's "declining poll numbers" for almost a year now. By my calculations, his post-Scooter, pre-speech approval should have been around -50.

"Let us not celebrate yet, Bush needs to hit them again and again."

I agree. This is not even close to enough. Bush needs to hammer this weekly, if not daily. What does anyone expect when the administration just sits there and takes it on the chin for MONTHS and says NOTHING? You almost can't blame the non-informed public for believing the crap coming from the anti-war left.

"Bush frees Muslims from oppression, and the Liberals and the French government don't."

The French are getting a taste of Muslim oppression right now, though.

If I remember correctly, the last poll where Bush's approval was really, really low, and the media loved to quote, was taken just before Miers was withdrawn.

Krauthammer said they would go up from there.

So the speech has yet to be factored in. But Bush is going to have to push it really hard, because the MSM is trying hard to bury any effect from it.
