Forty-six percent (46%) of American adults approve of the way George W. Bush is performing his role as President. Fifty-three percent (53%) of Americans Disapprove of the President's performance.

one pretty good speech and look what he can do for himself. Is there a lesson here?
This is the President's highest Job Approval Rating in over a month
Let's have more and more good speeches and more talk from real Republicans who support Bush and we will see these poll numbers go up for Bush. Bush is the same honest, ethical, upright person we voted for in 2004. It is the DemocRATs who are trying to pull him down because they are an evil bunch.
We also need some leadership and assertiveness from our congressional people.
I am sure that only a small percentage of the population was even aware of this speech when this poll was produced.
He could easily pick up 10 points by supporting the Minute Men.
Prolly another 10 by telling Teddy to sobber up.
Let us not celebrate yet, Bush needs to hit them again and again.
"This is the President's highest Job Approval Rating in over a month. However, it remains to be seen whether this latest blip is anything more than statistical noise."
Reagan hit a low 29% while trying to free the Russians. Now, he's one of the most favored and popular presidents of all time.
They didn't ask me, so bump it up one per cent further, already....
LOL!
People love a fighter! Come on Bush. KEEP IT UP.
Facts are on OUR side. The President can rally the people like no other. He CAN do it. Just FIGHT FOR IT.
Rassmussen has always had Bush 3 to 6 points higher than the more often quoted polls. He polls daily and it has been in the 40's for a few months now. It also seems to tic up on the weekends.
"Reagan hit a low 29% while trying to free the Russians. Now, he's one of the most favored and popular presidents of all time."
EXACTLY!
Its no different. We have seen all this before. They hated Reagan, the marched against him in even greater numbers! They lied, they name called. They made up conspiricy theories. Its nothing new.
And once again. The left is on the wrong side of history.
If Bush would come back to Conservatism, his ratings would go up. The drop is not from people on the left, they never approved of Bush, the drop is from the dis-affected right.
Luckily, the President uses only one poll. The last one was the first Tuesday of November, 2004.
Bush/Cheney '08
Not really. The drop is from the independents if you read the polls.
Rasmussen's latest poll does not reflect the impact of Bush's Veteran's Day speech. Rasmussen polls for three days to reach each day's numbers. Check early next week for the specific impact of the Veteran's Day speech on Bush's job approval rating.
Fox News' poll published on thursday has Bush at his lowest rating in their poll: 36% positive. His real current rating is somewhere between a high of 46% and a low of 35%.
Some folks say that polls don't matter but inside the beltway they matter a lot. Every national politician, including the President hires their own pollsters and when a politician's ratings are low, there is much more "going off the reservation" in response to perceived weakness. Hence the 46 to 9 Republican desertion of Bush this week on torture of suspected terrorists. That wouldn't have happened if Bush were at 62% positive job approval.
The same with the Republicans in the House deserting the President on Anwar drilling. Low poll numbers effect policy.
